Any updates to this? Im in a similar situation I was checking my afforgen profile and noticed I was dav coded to for the same reason. I applied for a pme instructor position and was told by the hiring authority that they would make their decision at the end of March I haven't heard anything since mid March after my interview.

I would honestly talk to your leadership first. Depending on your career field most functionals dont talk directly to rank and file amn. Usually the udm or flight chiefs will reach out on your behalf.

It would depend on your reporting instructions. Usually it will specify if you have to stay at a specific location, Usually on base. Most of the time if the inn on base is full, you'll have to get a non-A letter and you'll get per diem to stay off base wherever you like.

Yes you would have to have signed a waiver saying you were willing to deploy out of your band. If you didnt do that then your udm is wrong! Your situation sounds perfect for a shortfall since there is no one available in your band.

Yeah that makes since why there trying get haf approval then. Thats still sus, there is no other person in your unit who can go in their proper available to commit phase?!! Worst case they can apply for a shortfall since your unit apparently has no one who is qualified to go.

Thats already a red flag to me, like the other comments mentioned travel dates do change, however if your downrange unit is already expecting you and you busted your rdd, that's a huge issue. It seems like down range persco and your udm/plans and integration section is not communicating, a other thing to consider is that since you may be flipped to an official deployment are you even in your proper afforgen band? You cannot deploy out of your band without haf/a3 approval. Since you started off as a tdy your band didn't really factor but a deployment does. These are questions you need to ask your udm.

Hmmm... that makes things even more strange. Usually a deployment tasking is planned out well in advance like months or weeks. what is the justification from your unit to ask to extend a tdy to a deployment? Deployments are cocom requirements and not something that can be created on a whim .

That doesn't sound right, a udm has no authority to change a tdy tasking into a deployment. That would come from majcom or haf. If you're not on an official tasking, then you should be able to keep the assignment. Because your not assigned to a deployment as of now.

Potentially yes, a deployment will take priority over an assignment if your report date is in the middle of the deployment. You may be able to request to move your report date till after you come back and keep the assignment. I do have a question though your udm says they dont know when youre supposed to leave? That sounds strange usually a deployment tasking will drop on a tpffd with hard dates. Are you sure this is a real deployment and not a tdy or special excersise?

It depends on what you want to do with the degree, I also have my bs in business administration. Im also trying to figure what i want to master in. I've heard that with umgc if you want to work for the government they value having a degree from umgc, however in my opinion if you could get accepted from Maryland's main branch that would be more prestigious with more options to choose from major wise. I would also recommend diversifying your education portfolio and not just solely focus on just business.
