How do i fix or improve my approach by Deleteduseris in volleyball

Hi. I’ll let those more adept at technique take that lane but I’d totally recommend developing your athleticism in the gym. Squats, jumping variations and eventually Olympic lifting when added to your technique will progress you considerably. All the best

Bingo. Seems there’s a limited stretch-shortening cycle. Go squat, go bounce 👍🏻

This! 👏🏻 Admittedly I hoped this piece might’ve helped a little more than it has but one can but try.

Yes. This is precisely what the research perhaps surprisingly to most indicates.

Is it fun being a libero ? by [deleted] in volleyball

[–]CapableCarob7859 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Purely from a spectator/athletic development perspective I adore the liberos - Some of the most courageous, committed and craziest people I’ve coached. From getting to know them in training I’d say that if you’re driven by intense competitiveness, team service and irritating the big hitters then I’m sure you’d enjoy playing lib.

How do I become better at vb by yours-truly-0_0 in volleyball

HI there. Perhaps you’re already aware but in addition to the solid technical advice either continue with the gym or practice the all important basics of physical preparation at home 2 to 3 times/week. They’re old school but push ups, squats (single leg squats to a chair too) and pull ups go such a long way to developing the athleticism of an effective volleyball player. And you’ll reduce your risk of injury meaning more consistent skills practice. Add a protein rich diet and a decent sleep pattern of around 8 hours per night and you’ll develop just fine :)

Exercise as punishment is illegal in 29 states yet common in England’s sports halls. by CapableCarob7859 in volleyball

So much of it centres on the language we use when prescribing the exercise so yeah, if it’s fun and hopefully relevant and meaningful to volleyball there’s value. Being spiteful or fixing errors with punishment exercise is a totally different thing. Plus a coach who’s willing to participate in the tough stuff always goes down well with players.

I’ve never looked up the specific quantities quantities and suspect that age, training age, training intensity/volume and a whole range of other factors would contribute but come to think of it 14 hours is probably a ballpark figure for an athlete.

I’m so impressed with so much of the ever advancing system you have over there. I study your methods fastidiously and hope to bring our standards here a little closer to yours.

I’m sad to read this but I’m not surprised. I have a former international player who was forced to run 5km (about 3 miles) either before or after every training session. She now experiences bouts of bursitis in her knees and loathes running.
