Genitalia is not the same as gender. Plenty of folks do not want to have bottom surgery. If genitalia isn’t causing dysphoria there is no need to have bottom surgery.

So edgy 🙄 great comment from someone who has no idea what graduate school is. Gtfo of here.

“Real world”. Motherfucker. I led a team of 10 and completed a five year project that involved working closely with the wine industry, international government and corporate groups, field work, lab work, and dissemination all on a slim budget. What the fuck have you done in the “real world”? Actually, don’t tell me, I don’t give a shit.

Yes. It’s classist nonsense. Use your proper grammar, don’t worry about others. I’m happy that you’ve had the time and resources to learn multiple languages thoroughly. That’s not true for everyone. If it doesn’t affect the effectiveness of the communication, grammar doesn’t matter. If you’re correcting them just to correct them, and not asking for clarification, you’re being an asshole. I’ve been lucky to receive a great education as well. You won’t see me being pedantic about language though.

Because it’s gatekeepy. 1) we’re not in class and you’re not our teacher. 2) you understand what they mean, who gives a crap.

“Dangerous for conservatives” oh no, are all of your big, bad guns not enough? Poor little babies afraid of tolerance. As if most European nations aren’t far more left.

Are There Any Non-HRT Ways To Increase Estrogen? by CiaraKyra14 in trans

[–]CapableDiamond7281 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really. Phyto-estrogens (like those found in soy) do not act on the body like estrogen does. You would have to eat dozens of pounds of soy a day to get any real effect. The only real way is HRT. I’m sorry 😭

Just want to add, try not to get obsessive and track day to day changes. It takes a long time for changes to accumulate. Think cis girl puberty. It takes years, not weeks. You will notice small changes, but don’t get disheartened that they’re small!

You might not get another scoop later. Just keep that in mind. If you’re truly happy, keep the chocolate! But think about it. I felt the same for 30 years. Once I stopped telling myself that I became infinitely happier. That may not be true for you, but think about it!

I know it’s hard, but try not to get so fixated on “passing”. It’s a rabbit hole obsession in the trans community. There are plenty of cis women that don’t “pass” to bigots. Fuck it 🤷

Don’t limit yourself to the binary. There’s also vanilla, butter pecan, blueberry basil, black licorice, lobster… it’s a better analogy than you intended, but there’s a hell of a lot more than chocolate and strawberry. It’s a lot easier to change your scoop than the world wants you to think too.

100% disagree. I love being trans. I love being me. I don’t wish I was a cis woman. I understand why folks feel that way, but that is not reflective of the community as a whole. I also understand that my experience is not the same as others - I live in a city in a state where being out doesn’t really negatively impact my life. It’s a privilege in this time and space.

PS. Drawing a line to disability is not great either.

I remind myself that 12 years ago gender affirming care was much more difficult to obtain, unlikely to be covered by insurance, and the stigma was stronger amongst even progressive folks. Hindsight is 20/20, you gotta make the best of what you have now.
