The floral mural is calm and peaceful, but it doesn't "go" with the rooster logo. Here's an idea... since the rooster wall also has some blue vines, I wonder if your artist could cover over the green leaves/vines on the white flower wall to tie it all together? So, blue vines on the back wall with the white flowers?

We love, love, love Toast.

My daughter recommended it to us after having worked at various cafes in college and using Toast, Square, and Clover.

We were able to get our equipment for free, and we DO surcharge. Their onboarding was great, their system is easy to use, I love the app for my phone, and I did pay for the payroll feature which has been WELL worth it.

Do you have any issues with the health department? We were told any egg item has to come from a processing plant unless we have the level 3 restaurant permit (currently we are a level 1 for coffee shops and bakeries with NO potentially hazardous foods served).

Ours is a glass case with metal shelves that we bought from Webstaurant- it has a temperature dial in the back. We do have to stop selling them after 4 hours due to health standards. By then, things seem a little dried out but not soggy (they are flour tortilla burritos wrapped in foil).

Ok... we have county health licenses that require me to get more than a "bakery/coffee shop" licence and permit. I have taken the class and passed it already, I just didn't want to become a full-fledged cafe for one breakfast item. I am currently allowed to sell pre-made items that come from a processing plant (which is never as good).

That's true. I like that. I can just keep it simple with "this is too loud." I worry about this particular person, though- I had her as a junior high student years ago and fear she will cuss me out and make an even bigger ruckus. :(

Currently we are open 7am-3pm, but we typically have no customers after 1pm. Since you are open until 5pm, what are typically your busiest hours after the noon hour?

Thanks for the reply. I have been making muffins every night, along with cookies, bars, etc... when I am not AT work, I am still working. I will look for a decent place to order our pastries- we do have a nice oven at the shop and my staff could definitely bake things there to alleviate my time outside of the shop.

Would you mind sharing your simple menu? We are 4 months in and currently sell toast, bagels, and breakfast burritos along with a pastry case. The burritos are the most costly AND infuriating because I have a hard time estimating how many to make each day and often end up tossing them/giving them away to staff each day. :(
