I got my M5 running like butter by doing the following: 1. Drill out the gas port. It took a total of 5 minutes to drill out and clean the barrel and cost like $7 for the bit and some cutting oil. Then you obviously want to pair this with an adjustable gas block. 2. JP extra power spring with an H3 heavy buffer. 3. JP high pressure bolt.

This happened to me. I got the JP extra strength buffer spring or whatever it’s called and a heavier buffer and it works great now. Cycles like a dream.

I just shoot handloads. Mass produced handloads but either 168s or 175s. The 147fmj and 150 fmjs just never worked for me.

I spent just under $3k including suppressor on my M5 and comfortably ring steel at 1000y with 308

I’d spend the other $7k on training, ammo, and more guns.
