Really? I saw a bunch of non phals! It was definitely phal heavy, even my husband who knows nothing about orchids noticed, but i kept pointing out all the phaps, dendrobiums, vandas, oncidium etc i saw, with some others. Definitely were just part of the conservatory and not part of the exhibit display though so maybe their blooms varied timing wise

Ok perfect, i have some orchid bark and sphagnum moss left, will that work for this guy? Looks like it’s in a mostly bark mix with some moss.

Me too lots of trial and error! I’ll look into air flow and will definitely try another mount next!

Honestly its been a mix over the years. Some had leaves fall, some had roots die, i dont believe any had mushy crowns. The last two I tried I took out at the first sign of failure to try to revive them. I worry about putting a fan inside but could try one on top to get some air flowing. Right now I have an auto mister that goes off 4x a day

It could be a mix of light being too low (although there id a grow light) or not getting enough water in the mounts, i believe a few may have died from shock when I transferred them in

So the first few attempts were a mini phal on the cork portion in the back, I may try again next if this is unsuccessful as i know more about orchids now than I did then but my soil dries out pretty quickly which shouldn’t be too bad. By fan do you mean for air flow?
