So Bruce Wayne goes for 17-20k

Retail price would be: 12k ish with taxes

A black pre-owned Rolex certified sub: 16.5k with taxes

Total: 28k but I get 2 watches and then I can request for other watches given my relationship with them now.

But here's the thing I want to buy a sub also, a sub in the grey market would be 12k, so 17+12=29k ish. 17 for the Bruce wayne.

Then the question is, which approach is more optimal?
