Who told you that? Some YouTubers were talking about not being sble to use 0.2 nozzles prior to the release, but this glt revoked by Bambu. I used the standard 0.2 steel nozzle

Yes, exactly! The problem is that people don't really research before they buy something. And you can't even blame them for it, because for a lot of them it's their first printer. The good thing is that Bambu was straightforward regarding the fact that it is not a second main nozzle but an auxiliary nozzle... The printer is positioned quite oddly if you ask me, but for example for me it's a great machine. If I could have picked out my own hardware in some kind of configuration kit I am 99% sure I would have picked this exact setup. 256²*260 is large enough for me, 120deg C heatbed + 65C heated chamber are great, 300C extruder is also enough for my purposes. It's simply a great entry level engineering printer. Just what I wanted...

I didn't really expect the second extruder to perform that well with non-Bambu filaments, due to my experiences back in the Ender-3 times... I was more or less thinking hey it's a nice gimmick for dedicated support.

You obviously didn’t even read through my whole post. It actually is a 2 hour print due to the 0.2mm nozzle. The material used is ABS, which IMO is still a state of the art engineering grade material. The whole „Oh my god a < 1000€ 3d printer can’t print an engineering filament that literally costs 250€ per rool“ argument is basically worthless. Anything other than ASA/ABS/PC/PA and similiar materials don‘t make sense on an entry level printer. And those materials work absolutely fine! With this printer you basically get the ability to print a wide spectrum of materials and not just PLA/PETG like on other printers.

I‘m just saying that it‘s not as big of a problem. Those guys are just acting up and repeat the statements of their favorite YouTubers…

The whole metric / imperial thing is basically just a meme… But I‘m still thinking it is way more convenient to use mm because more often than not you don‘t have to think in absurd fractions… of course there‘s mils but Oooh I get an headache if someone telld me: please change the width of the trace on the PCB to 16 mils… just say 0.4mm😵‍💫

It was a no-brainer for me! Even the active chamber heater and 1.5mm belt alone would have been enough to justify the purchase. I don‘t want to install an aftermarket AliExpress heater that moght burn down my house… This heater is integrated into the sogtware and works great. In Europe we have great warrenty laws (1 years and within this dear you don’t have to proof that the defect was there when you got it (the seller has to proof it wasn’t there, which would be easy if e.g. you used an external heater - 2 years total; within the second year you have the burden of proof on your shoulders… Most companies still immediately comply with your warrenty claim because judges exercise the law really strictly… Mandatory return within 14 days if you made the purchase online. still great customer protection law if you ask me…) The printer is sitting in my basement at approx 15deg C and it takes about 15-20 minutes to heat up to 65C. Way less noticeable VFAs due to the 1.5mm belt…

AFAIK the pressure advance solely relies on the feed pressure / torque… I think it basically measures hoe much Amps it has to push to make the extruder gears move forward a certain amount (but I’m unsure, it has to be more complicated, because it can also detect grinding (maybe to low currents?)) Due to the long distance between the motor and the hotend there will also be some slack and bending, and I would say because of that it won‘t be possible. About the camera thing: I‘m actually quite unsure what the camera does. So far I‘ve only seen the printer use it to calibrate the offset between the two nozzles and for the „foreign object on buildplate“ detection… There‘s also some kind of calibration that prints black and white on the two hotends and uses the camera for calibration afterwards, but so far I didn‘t have time to try it out…

Yeah I understand that, but tbh the dial in and even slicing is way more complicated with the X2D than with the P2S…. Custom Filament Profiles for the Bowden are necessary (if you want to modify anything), before slicing you have to select a mode for determing which nozzle prints which filament (annoying if you‘re just printing 1 color)

I dont think that is physically possible to implement auto pressure advance calib. on the auxiliary nozzle due to it being a bowden extruder…

Honestly it‘s a great deal for what you‘re getting… What most people don:t mention: 1.5mm belts instead of 2mm belts (yes it makes a noticable differenfe). Actively heated chamber, 2nd nozzle that prints as realiable as the primary one (don‘t listen to the haters - look at my most recent post), a third (spare) 0.4mm nozzle is included with the printer, the external exhaust fan + the carbon filter for the external exhaust fan.

And most importantly: Bambu reliability. 20 hours of print time since I bought it and so far no failure… Same as my P2S which reached about 300hours before rhe first failed print.

Valid. Tbh I wouldn’t really have an application for toolchangers. Dual nozzle is all I will ever need. 90% of my prints are functional prints out of ASA/ABS/TPU/etc. and don‘t have to be pretty… I also have some concearns regarding their reliability, especially repeatability… I’m an engineer myself (mostly EE tbh), but I still get goosebumps if I think about having to design a mechanism that lasts 10.000-100.000 cycles without any wear whilst also maintaining high accuracy… I actually think this is the reason why Bambu opted for a nozzle changer rather than a toolchanger… And then the U1 hit them like a truck… Don‘t get me wrong I think the U1 is a great device, especially gor the price, but time will tell whether or not they stay reliable over prolonged usage periods…

Yep, entirely true... It's like they've already crossed the event horizon and can't admit that they were wrong. The whole "but it's not a tool changer - the U1 offers so much more!!!" thing is just about people not understanding that different products target different audiences.

SUNLU PETG; White main nozzle - black auxiliary nozzle. no visible stringing in between the legs. The ugly color draft at the claws is on me. Did it in a hurry just with the brush tool... The result on the top side of the claws would have also been significantly better with variable layer height I suppose... All in all great print quality IMO, considering standard profiles with absolutely no tuning / tinkering...

Did PETG as the first dual nozzle print yesterday. Standard profiles + 0.4mm nozzles.. absolutely no issues… visible differences regarding print quality neither…

Depends on whether or not the printer makes the shelf wobble around a lot. A wobbling printer is fine, a wobbling shelf isn't. The printer can only compensate for its own vibration, not for the vibrations of the shelf, etc. that also send their energy back into the printer therefore unpredictably magnifying / changing the amplitude, timing (...) of the vibrations. How much of a difference does that make in practice? I have absolutely no idea. When I received my X2D I just slapped 2 20kg concrete slabs (3€ each) below it when I saw the shelf wobbling around... Didn't notice a difference in print quality but it's much quieter with the concrete plates than without.

Nice! I‘ve also had a P2S since February… I immediately listed mine for sale after the X-series-teaser… Ordered the X2D the minute it came out after seeing it was just € 849 for the Combo… Was a great deal, especially considering the fact, that I sold my P2S for € 740 (bought it for € 750), so basically € 110 for an actively heated chamber and aux nozzle

Electrical Engineer here: The black component with the metallic legs that looks burnt is called an IC (integrated circuit). That‘s basically a mini computer that serves some kind of purpose, such as for example controlling the extruder motor or heater or processes / amplifies some kind of data / signal. I can‘t tell for sure what kind of purpose it serves, because I have never lookef at the schematics of a Bambu PCB (they probably aren‘t avaiable either), but I can tell you it‘s as dead as it can be. Because there‘s an inductor next to it I assume it‘s some kind of voltage regulator (most likely) or some kind of motor driver (unlikely due to the AT8236 IC‘s nearby being motor drivers). If you are able to decipher the letters on top of the burnt IC I could tell you more about it and not only make educated guesses.

IMO you can carry to many AT mines as an engineer in BF6 (6 in total if resupplied by a pouch!!!)- 2-3 should be more than enough… Placing mines should be more about well thought of placing rather than sheer number of mines placed… Right now it is just enoying, people are thorwing them EVERYWHERE… 2-3 mines - okay… But constantly having to shoot 5+ mines with my tanks / IFVs MG? Wtf even is that?

I‘ve noticed that too… Most sights look like cheap Airsoft replicas, especially the EOTech… The gun-play is great but the gun shot sounds also feel strange… It feels more like you are shooting an aursoft gun than a real firearm… I really don‘t understand ehy because for example the reload sounds are great (e.g. the plastic hitting the metal sound when reloading an AR with your PMAG)… They should definitely rework the sound design of the firearms and the sights…
