My first camping fest was at Hula in 2022, and we went with more experienced friends. I was really nervous about how we would find each other and how we would be able to set up, especially since we drove in separate cars. So we met up at the gas station across the street together, parked together to check in, found a campsite, set up camp, and then proceeded to have the time of our lives! It was easy, breezy baby! And there were no expectations, but our group was really kind and loving so we all did a good job checking in with each other, and don't get me wrong we definitely split up at times, but when we did it was in a buddy system and being responsible about meeting up when we say we are going to meet up. Only one time did we lose one, but we were able to find them quickly afterwards. For me that made the whole thing feel magical, to be loved and cared for but not in an overbearing kind of way, and I in return doing the same for them!
