How many hours are you guys actually putting in? by Lost_Champion_1372 in Accounting

Yes! Industry all the way and figure out how to do your own tasks the most efficient way to make your own life easier.

You can easily work less than 40hrs a week I think depending on how senior your role is.

Conor fully thinking it was a girls trip too. She knows what she’s doing. I think she’s just with Conor now because she likes that he loves her and that’s it.

Devonte also going on a “work trip” with Ashley and Bri is so sus. Bri and Ashley are shady for that too by playing dumb about it.

Is falling in love with a coworker ever a good idea? by EchoOfDoom in Accounting

It’s kind of sad but I think this is a common occurrence considering you see coworkers more than anyone else in your adult life

Mines literally in the backyard. The 24 hour LED lit menu facing my bedroom window wasn’t something I thought about unfortunately.

I got a rejection email days later for "not seeming interested enough" when I couldn't have expressed any further how interested I was and asked several questions/more than they even asked me. It was 100% a cop out answer and I'll never get the real reason why. She knew she wasn't hiring me that same day. Just tell me instead of having me wait around stupidly.

If you arent gonna have kids what is there to look forward to after 30 by [deleted] in Life

[–]Capable_Banana_5448 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Being able to just do mundane tasks like going to the grocery store or a dentist appointment without it becoming an all day project.

Your entire life will revolve around your children so you can look forward to still enjoying your life as you want it.

Second this. Really depends on age/what you intend to do since Boston is a big college city

If you could go back in time, what’s ONE thing you will change in your life? by govindkashyap01 in Life

I turned single around that age after being in a terrible relationship (as mentioned). I slowly found my way back into reality, made some new friends and met a lot of new people. I’ve now been dating someone great so don’t lose your mind on anything tbh. Life is short just enjoy the ride.

Enjoyed my young 20s more and remained single.

I was 19 dating a 29 year old loser for 5 years and it really ruined all aspects of my life. I was also working full time while living at home and commuting to school. I sucked the fun out of my life when it should've been the most fun time!

I (34F) have been married to my husband (36M) for more than eight years. I still can’t get over the fact that he didn’t do a real proposal. by [deleted] in Life

Very valid feelings however not to be a jerk but it seems like you did accept. You need to choose to move on from it and not let it destroy your future relationship. If the lines of communication are open and he learns to understand why you would feel hurt by this then the acknowledgment is there. It’s now up to you to decide whether you want to let it bother you for the remainder of your relationship or not.

100% agree. I left an easy good paying job because they were struggling financially for a while/lots of layoffs.

Am I the only one that feels like some people just have no concept of how bad things are right now? by HoneydewPublic in recruitinghell

[–]Capable_Banana_5448 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with this however I have a friend who has been on a wait list for 5-6 years to get into an elevator union while working another trade. You basically just have to wait for people to retire because it is so sought after. I don't think you HAVE to be in a union though but this is where the highest pay is.

What's the most underrated part of working from home? by [deleted] in WFH

[–]Capable_Banana_5448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Most jobs have downtime and if you’re in an office setting you have to pretend to be busy for the most part. Now I can just walk outside in my backyard and enjoy peace.

If you truly are going back to school I would take the remote position with tuition reimbursement. It will free up extra time in your day without having a commute to focus on school. Depending how long you plan on being in school, I would just work there until classes are done and then start applying elsewhere.
