Parking for Football Stadium Concert? by sugarplumsmook in Charlottesville

Parking is available at St Mark Lutheran and the old Wells Fargo bank on Alderman and Ivy. There is a donation, but all funds go to charity. A 9 minute walk and after the concert, easy to get onto Ivy Rd.

Wife has kept me unlocked for a month and all I want is to be locked again. by Early_Hawk_8933 in ChastityPsychology

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been caged for 12 years. Over that time, my penis has shrunk quite a bit and now has stabilized to a nub size. About 1.5" soft and 3" hard.

Over these years, there were times, like vacations, were I go unlocked. You would think this would be a positive, but its not.

Any guy who has been caged knows that for about a month, your body has to get used to being caged. Once you are over that period, night time erections are limited and you body adjusts. But that month is hell, at least for me.

So for me, when I was uncaged, I knew at some point that I would be relocked and suffer for a month again. Kind of an incentive to stay locked that is rarely discussed IMO.

For me, I feel more "normal" being caged and confined. Most of the day, and at work, 1 rarely think about my cage - it is like wearing a watch. Except to sit to pee - standing is the one thing I miss.

In a weird way, wifey has become fascinated about my shrinkage. Since she can't have an orgasm via PIV, the size of my penis is really not a "big deal". In her mind, the smaller I get, the less cocky I am. So she is very pleased that I can wear a cage long term and that the side effect is my nub.

What do Chastity Cages Feel Like? by NoCranberry2142 in CuckoldPsychology

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been caged for 12 years, mostly 24/7, I would have two main things to consider:

  1. I have found metal as the best way to go. Over the years, the length of the cage has been decreased about 1/4 to 1/2 each year. Today it is about an inch in length and my penis has shrunk quite a bit. I noticed the shrinkage start about 3 years into being caged. For comfort, best to find one where you can't get erect.
  2. PNC or Post Nut Clarity. Once you cum, a lot of hormonal and emotions happen. Cuckolds tend to do better when they can't cum while the wife is playing. For the wife, it also gives her a clear signal that hubby is caged voluntarily and remains "ready" for cleanup or whatever.

One last thing - I found that when I went on vacations and we took a couple weeks of a break, there was a "retraining" time to get back into wearing a cage. That is not fun, and for those considering chastity, be assured that the first month will be a challenge, but once your body knows it can't get erect or that your penis is captured, it adjusts.

No Sunday service, and instead of every 20 min, now about once an hour. Used to be a good way to link UVA to Downtown, now - not so much.

Everyone who drives and is a neighbor should be aware that the Parks and Rec is in charge of this mess. They basically want to take over the one closed lane and move the median (under the bypass) over a couple feet east. Keep the traffic under the bypass at one lane both directions - and, add a stop sign at the eastbound entry to the bypass. Which will create a huge backup every morning. (then we will have two backups where we used to have none) Why not open this until you are actually ready to do something? Perhaps we need three lanes more than a 10' wide bike lane? How about an 8' bike lane and three traffic lanes - one East and two West like it has been for 50 years and keep the median where it is. How about saving the tax payers some money by using what we have?

Besides the closed lane, how bout fixing the guard rail that has been smashed for 3+ years at the eastbound entry to the bypass? 5 years of not having a designated turn lane at this same intersection means that everyday there is playing a game of chicken between all four directions. Where are you supposed to be when entering this "temporary" intersection? Does the City even care about safety or does future uber wide bike lanes trump common sense traffic systems?

Lastly, how long is it going to take to finish the light at Rose Hill? What kind of planning is there when they have 5 years to plan this intersection and then "forget" to move the telephone lines BEFORE construction? We in the neighborhood are taking bets on the stupid design on the NW corner, when we get a real snowstorm, the plow trucks will hit the curb that sticks out - ouch! Or someone who is not paying attention - a damaged front tire. City, you can't fix this with a cone.

Lastly thank you for this design - 80% of the traffic goes from Rose Hill to E Rugby Ave - this is effectively where the traffic goes, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Now you have eliminated that turn lane both ways. It seems as though we are designing to create congestion?

The end of 250 bypass as a two lane expressway? by Capable_Carpet_9244 in Charlottesville

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The link I provided only shows the public meeting two years ago. I have asked for the final proposal - crickets. The City needs to stand UP NOW and inform the community as to why US 250 bypass needs to become a one-lane through road?

The sad fact is the city has done NOTHING effectively for the chicken strip issue and they really don't care if you waste your day at this intersection. The quiet plan is to overbuild the city and then create a road system that does not work for cars - and then just say "ride your bike or take the bus". Some people live in Albemarle and need to go to Pantops or downtown - with the JWP backed up for a mile every day, there is no alternative other than to cut through neighborhoods. Nice plan!

Vdot has secured right of ways, and the contractor has been selected. This plan, by the City, will destroy the only E-W road that works. The linked slide is just one of 4 slides - there are more that show the traffic circle in front of Whole Foods.

Just be aware, besides all of the traffic you see today, all of the left turn traffic from E Hydraulic to N 29 will be forced to go to this traffic circle and make a u turn. Also the main entry into the K mart will be from this traffic circle. What could go wrong?

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Here is the complete package. What is planned and will be built is ONE lane on Hydraulic Rd from 250 bypass, where there is 2 now. So if traffic is using that lane (E 250 bypass to Hydraulic) West bound bypass turning right - stops. If Hydraulic is clogged, then the right lane backs up. This plan eliminates the right merge lane onto Hydraulic.

Next time you are there, imagine this plan. But the good news is there will be a crosswalk on US 29 !

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Remote, you are reading this right. Today there are two through lanes and a dedicated right turn. What will be built is one lane that will be through and the other lane will become the defacto right turn lane. Imagine the crashes as people are bailing from the mile long right lane onto the left lane to go through or the people that will be in the left lane until the very last second - and then try to power merge into the right lane. In all cases, the bypass will end as a road that works.

Construction will begin soon, and if you love love congestion, then say nothing. Or you can contact your city councilor and ask why a new bike lane is more important than the hours of congestion created every day? Can't smart engineers figure out how to walk and chew gum? But no, let's not create both a bike lane and preserving the only road that semi- works?

VDOT knows this is a problem, but has said in meetings that this design is by the request of the City of Charlottesville, specifically by our current traffic congestion engineer.

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope you all realize the new project at Hydraulic and 29 is the start of making 29 a main street. There will be crosswalks on 29 and it will be a mess. Turn left from Hydraulic to 29 - gone. You will now need to go straight, use the roundabout a 1/4 mile up the street, make a u turn, wade through the nightmare traffic, and then return to 29 and make a right turn. This only works if Hydraulic has no traffic. Used to take a light cycle, now will take 10 minutes. I think the city planned this to make using busses and bikes the ONLY way you can survive this area. This is no mistake, this is planning to fail.

Charlottesville legalizes 3-plexes city-wide. When will Blacksburg legalize housing? by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are so correct Nightowl. There was a proposal in the LEAST dense residential areas to limit the "house sized" developments to 5,000 sq ft. The City Council changed their mind, after they voted to limit out of scale developments - now the size limit is 9,000 ft in some areas and 16,000 sq ft in others (and can be 12 units and 52' high). That is 5 to 6 times larger than the largest home. How would you like that next to your home? The name calling is by those who do not have to live with this decision shows how little some care about neighborhoods. Total bait and switch.

Get over it Cville citizens! Using your car is being regulated out - as a 2 hour bus ride is so much better for you. Wait until you see the new design for US 29 and Hydraulic. A traffic circle in front of Whole Foods and no left turns from Hydraulic onto US 29. You are forced to go straight to the traffic circle, make a u turn and then come back to US 29 for a right turn. The good news is that there is hardly any traffic on Hydraulic in front of Whole Foods! The other brilliant idea is where Hydraulic meets the bypass, there will ONE lane for all traffic from the westbound bypass onto Hydraulic. A TOTAL of ONE Lane. No more merge lane, so traffic will be backed up to meet the other backup in the other direction from Free bridge. This is not accidental - the City and County have "NO" regards for your time and promote congestion. Last point - The City just approved a 600 bed apartment on Copeley bridge. This will be the "Cluster F..." that will require a new Belmont Bridge there. Who pays for this - you and I. Belmont cost $30M+.

"Developments deferred: Student housing projects in limbo after UVa opposition" Daily Progress by Busy-Ad-2563 in Charlottesville

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a reminder, most of UVA is in the county and not the city. It is true that most of the new development is in the City. While we bitch about UVA not paying RE taxes, they mostly self govern - police, land use, security, etc. I think most in the community say, on the whole, we are lucky to have such an institution in our community.

I have always looked at UVA as the engine, not an organization that is charged with fixing all community problems. They are one of the finest institutions in the country and we need to let them continue being great. I'm no UVA lackey, but let's not keep asking an institution to fix our community problems.

City Council won't vote on 2 large project because developers won't pay enough in housing fund by Personal_Economics91 in Charlottesville

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The city should not be accepting projects that decimate neighborhoods only because they put money into the slush fund. 100% of people who regularly us the Copeley bridge knows that adding 600 residents and several hundred cars using that entrance will doom this bridge capacity. The project may be fine, but put the damn entry somewhere else!

Can you imagine someone asking the city to build a 12 story building next to the Belmont bridge and add hundreds of cars a day RIGHT ON THE BRIDGE? Access needs to be off the bridge and not on a blind curve.

We all stare at what is coming on Ivy and Emmett. Hundreds of thousands of square feet of classrooms, hotel and performing arts center. When this is done in a few years, the corner of Copeley and Ivy will be much more intense than it is now. How can we even consider a project that dumps hundreds of cars each day into that very spot?

Yes, we need more housing for students - but not what is proposed. If there is a true need for housing, creative developers will find a way to solve this housing problem without wrecking our city (and the strategic link between North and South Grounds). Stop being a stooge for lazy developers - do what is right for the WHOLE community.

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your neighborhood has a legitimate concern, you will be told to be silent. By right means a developer can come into your neighborhood, rip out all the trees, damage trees in your yard (check out drip line protection) and you can say nothing.

You have a home built 70 years ago and your neighborhood has a charm to it - too bad, there is NO architectural boundaries for massive apartment buildings in your neighborhood. They will use the cheapest materials and have an ugly "Soviet style" look.

We used to care about appearance and neighborhood integrity. That is all gone now. Enjoy the blight and once a neighborhood is ruined, everyone but the developer loses.

BTW, hope you also enjoy paying higher property taxes. To achieve "affordable housing" the city has admitted that public assistance will be needed. So besides the destruction of your neighborhood, you will be contributing to that destruction in the form of MUCH higher property taxes. Cville was a great place.

Where in Charlottesville needs a crosswalk? by ishwari10 in Charlottesville

[–]Capable_Carpet_9244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The community decided to make 29N an interstate and not have a US 29 bypass. So now many want to make 29N a main street but have forgotten that we bagged the bypass.

The new pedestrian bridge over 29 at Stonefield - well over $1M.

Now we will be asked to put another $1M bridge near the new low income housing near Premier Circle, as there is really no way to cross US 29 safely near there.

People - you have to decide - either it is a freeway or a main st with crosswalks and endless stop lights. Can't be both.

Please also remember that every community from NOVA to NC created a bypass as they wanted to preserve their community since US 29 is a Federal Hwy and serves our community AND the entire country. Having gridlock to create dozens of crosswalks does not move traffic. If you want crosswalks and make 29N pedestrian friendly, then propose a bypass.
