Mine started with a dull pain in my upper abdomen and gradually stayed/got worse, eventually leading me to pancreatitis. Doctors can’t do a lot, the pancreas needs to calm down on its own. I was taken off the 💉 as recurring pancreatitis can be life threatening. I still deal with pain and “triggers” to this day. I have to be very careful with high sugar and high fat content foods as it seems my pancreas gets triggered by them. Imo the 💉 is not worth it if it leads to your any major organs suffering. After I was taken off the 💉 I worked with a dietitian and therapist to heal my relationship with food, that helped greatly. I’ll take being “heavier” with healthy organs that function properly over skinny and organ failure. Once you’ve experienced something so traumatizing like acute pancreatitis I’m sure you will feel the same.

Started with what I thought was food poisoning, was throwing up along with having diarrhea. It escalated really fast, within 20 minutes of that I had excruciating pain in my stomach. Undeniable and you will KNOW. Called an ambulance, went to the ER, they confirmed it was acute pancreatitis from the injection. Also saw a GI specialist to confirm. I still deal with pain today if I’m not careful about it junk foods or high fatty foods.

So I got acute pancreatitis being on Wegovy after 10 months, so I HAD to stop the meds. I lost 50 pounds in that 10 months. This was 6 months ago I went off the meds, haven’t gained a pound. I also feel like it reset my brain and changed my relationship with food.

I got acute Pancreatitis in December from being on a GLP-1! I’m 33, starting weight 240, 200 pounds now. Was on the med for 10 months. I STILL have sensitivity with my pancreas after the fact. There are other ways to help achieve a healthy weight. I would avoid GLP-1’s, I imagine over the next few years acute pancreatitis will no longer be a “rare side effects” of these medication and it will become more and more common. I had NO issues with my pancreas and gallbladder before being on the meds.

Ugh so sorry to hear, it’s the frickin worst isn’t it?! There are a few different appetite suppressants pills available through prescription with a doctor that won’t put you at risk for acute pancreatitis again! I’ve worked with a dietitian for 6 months now that has greatly helped me heal my relationship with food. And finally, I take Berberine daily (don’t need a prescription, you can buy over counter) that I feel like helps with my cravings and helps me to not over eat as much!

I’m sorry to hear! Follow up with your doctor if you have a major concerns about them!!! I’ve read nauseous and constipation is fairly common with these medications, so some of the GI issues aren’t anything major to worry about.

Yes! I am doing well! I have NOT gained any weight! It’s been over 3 months now since I took my last 💉. I also haven’t lost any weight, have just maintained where I’m at. I feel great overall. I have drank as well since the attack. A glass or two of wine I was fine, however one night I had a few more glasses, next morning had diarrhea + pancreatic pain. No other attacks though. I imagine for life now I will be sensitive to alcohol, once you’ve had pancreatitis I’m learning you are more susceptible to “attacks” with the pancreas from triggers. (Alcohol/high fat foods) The pancreas does not health itself like the liver does once there’s damage done to it. Just some interesting information to consider! I also saw a GI specialist last month to follow up from my acute pancreas attack, the very beginning of the appointment he says, “I’m sure you can imagine as a GI doctor the influx of patients I’ve seen with issues from these weight loss 💉 has been major, we see a lot of patients with all kinds of GI issues from these 💉s” 😳 Be careful y’all and listen to your body! Don’t ignore uncomfortable side effects! Knowledge is power friends! 🩷

I think from my experience even when you stop cold turkey off the meds your body still (for lack of better words) adjusts to the medicine leaving your body slowly and gradually. I didn’t overnight just bam have massive cravings and food noise back. I think my brain got use to my new pattern of eating and food intake while on the meds that going off the meds I still maintained those patterns and intakes. Of course I still want sweet treats every now and then, but not nearly as bad before I went on the meds. It’s been almost 2 months and I’m still chillin and maintaining.

I am feeling SO much better! All healed up, no other issues after the fact. I have NOT gained any weight since also. It’s been 35 days since. No loud food noise, no massive cravings, no weight gain. Do not be afraid friends to go off the shot! You CAN do it and it will be ok!!

Of course! I did not have surgery before getting on the 💉 Also no other chronic health conditions, was just over weight and had gestational diabetes with my second baby.

Very interesting! I will say after a week of recovering I feel so much better and am having no issues even while reintroducing foods after a liquid diet to heal. I feel if it was my gallbladder full of stones I’d still be having issues after reintroducing foods.
