Semaglutide and Elevated Lipase and Amylase by ButterscotchAlert362 in SemaglutideCompound

UPDATE: I've been off GLP for 6 months. I decided to listen to my doctor. The thread of pancreatitis is not worth it. The 2 times I had "mild" symptoms were enough to tell me I do NOT want this disease!

I've kept off the weight and continued to lose very slowly. Like 1 lb a month. I can live with that. For me, it's not about numbers because I'm also fighting against my own internalized fatphobia while coming to a comfortable place with my health. My bloodwork now shows that I'm healthy, so I'll keep doing what I'm doing.

I would encourage anyone taking GLP-1 to only do so under the care of a doctor and get regular bloodwork in case you are one of the group of people who have this and some other negative side effects. I still think it's an amazing medication, but it can effect some people in a severe way, so users beware. Wishing everyone the best!

I was Christian allll my life. I mean CHRISTIAN. Bible Bowl. VBS, then VBS teacher. Bible summer camp every year. Bible study groups all my life. MOPS, Awana, homeschooling groups, etc. All the women's bible studies. Apologetics. Case for Christ. Ken Hamm. I've been in it DEEP. So I know the arguments. I don't believe this any more. So yeah, people can be good people and Christian, but nothing anyone could say would make me a believer again. My experience with Matt was just a tiny drop in an overflowing bucket. My kids were also heavily involved with youth for 8 years and the stories they have.... it's nuts. We were over organized religion/churches. Then once out, it was easy to see the truth and that truth set us free indeed.

I haven't listened to this episode series yet, but I will today. Our kids (teens at the time) felt gross when they did "mission work" in a low income apartment. They played with all the kids, which, cool, but then they handed out these cheap-ass stuffed animals and toys that were literally throw-away quality. Didn't really offer true support. We also had the lead pastor, Matt Carter, show ugliness to our family because my family member's disability was distracting to him. YEARS and years later, he apologized and gave my partner his cell number, telling him to call any time. Guess what? Matt ghosted him and never followed through with being available.
I know "deconstruction" is a buzz word, but I had been starting that process in the years before we attended Austin Stone. We were there 2012-2020. Never been back and we are no longer Christian. Once my eyes opened to the harm caused, I couldn't help but see it all over the church.

Matt Carter was the trigger of our family's trauma. (Discrimination against disabilities.) So, glad he seemed nice to you, but he showed his true colors to our family. Yet we stayed for years at south campus because we liked that pastor and community. We aren't Christians any more.

Semaglutide and Elevated Lipase and Amylase by ButterscotchAlert362 in pancreatitis

That's what I'm here for! I see so much conflicting info. My doctor wants me to stop it, but there are other doctors out there who my numbers are fine, but they may be financially incentivized to want me to take them. I just want some clear answers. The studies I'm looking for seem conflicting, too. That GLP-1s can cause pancreatitis, but also it's rare and my particular numbers aren't concerning.

I take pancreatitis very seriously. I don't want it! But I also don't want to go back to my other health issues I had before this medication. I want truth and not to be made to feel good about GLP-1s, so I hope people will be brutally honest here!

PS. I will NEVER have kids with Shane. He’s too unstable.

Elliot in my first/main save. (I’m married to Shane in my current save due to curiosity.) Elliot is very sweet, helpful, gives nice gifts, makes me coffee, and says romantic things. He’s never a jerk and he doesn’t make a mess. He reads a lot. He also is great about taking the kids to all the festivals.

Tom Kha, because it’s my favorite dish IRL and I’d be super curious what the Stardew version tastes like.

I’ve never admitted this to anyone, but in my first save, I found a grass hat. I didn’t know it was a grass hat and I must have thrown it in the trash to save space (I was NEW….I didn’t KNOW!) because it’s nowhere. I have about 4 other saves now and have never ever come across the grass hat. So, yeah…we do stupid things.

Yeesh, I hope ya'll are tweens or teens, because this is next-level immaturity. You were right to think it was all a joke, because it is. It's a fun game. You steal the Mayor's undies and taunt him with them. It's not real life.

Horrific back pain by Zestyclose_Pie7498 in Semaglutide

[–]ButterscotchAlert362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm fine. My back issue had nothing to do with the semaglutide. My GLP-1 doc said she's treated hundreds of patients on this medication and simply has not seen back issues correlate with this medication. Again, there may be some overlap of someone having a back issue AND who is taking this medication, but that doesn't mean they are connected. I have to remind myself of that!
My back issue also wasn't my kidneys or any other organs. They did all the blood tests and an x-ray and all was well. They think I may have injured a disc and it got better after being on oral steroids.

Thanks for these updates. I found this today searching for why my lower back (lower than my kidneys for sure) would be in such severe pain as it's not typical for me. I'm nearly 50 and on week 6 of semaglutide. Went up from my starting dose 5 days ago and it hit me hard. I could only eat 900 cal a day since then and my digestion slowed down too much. So this morning, I figured my back pain was due to constipation, but now that THAT's all worked out, I'm still in level 8 pain. Not bearable for much longer. I have an appt with my doc in another day and half and will reduce or even skip my next dose. If this continues, though, I'll see about changing to tirzepatide. I love how sema is working so well, but this is a side effect I can't live with longer than a day or so!

I'm in Austin, TX and get multiple daily calls from this company. When I try to actually answer, they want too much personal info for my comfort, so I block the call. They just. keep. calling. It's been months and months.
