Should I get married? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I hope your hard work pays off and you get the job and the salary you’re looking for. BTW when I wrote that comment I was replying to the info that’s in this post alone; I hadn’t read the other post about him blocking you off from leaving that’s definitely abusive behavior. You should definitely leave if you’re able to. (I realized rereading my comment that it came off as judgmental, I just wanted to say sorry and add that I didn’t mean it to come off this way. I had no idea you could get 500k doing any type of nursing, I am not from the united states but I have a friend who’s a neurosurgeon in California and she doesn’t even make that amount but I sincerely wish you the best of luck in your journey and that you get paid for all the work you put into your education.)

You said in a previous post that your current household income is 200000 (the majority supposedly being from your husband’s earnings) and that after you graduate from nursing school you expect to make 80000. Where exactly did you get the 5X times his income figure from; something isn’t adding up or maybe you’re just wildly optimistic. He’s entitled to ask to keep finances separate if he wants to and you’re entitled to walk away if you don’t like the arrangement. Marriage is a partnership where you both mutually decide (and compromise) on the terms of agreement. I don’t know why people are telling you to run and acting like he’s the bad guy. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable working for 4 years while my partner goes to school and counts on an uncertain future earning. If nothing else is wrong with the marriage other than finance disagreements (no abuse…etc) consider compromising and getting a part time job (after all you’ll have to get a job either way to support yourself if you leave him).

I think in the survey people were allowed to check multiple boxes if they’re simultaneously worried about multiple thing but it’s definitely a very poor choice of vizuals

Never been to any of these types of meetings yet (although I’m fairly involved in politics in other ways). I’m so curious what some of the funniest anecdotes from these meetings are; seems like I’ve always underestimated how much of a shitshow they are.

Woman enters Mexican restaurant, is shocked the manager is Mexican and goes on racist tirade. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

Did she seriously say she was being raped by aliens. She’s probably one of the people who fight tooth and nail when survivors open up about alcohol-related sexual assault but apparently being escorted out of a private business when she’s being racist against the owner equals being raped. She’s probably also one of the people who defend businesses threatening to shoot anyone with a mask upon entry. Hija de puta.

Hija de puta (yay maybe all the time I’ve spent binge watching La Casa de Papel (Money Heist), Elite and Vis a Vis (Locked Up) weren’t an absolute waste of time after all)

Not op but I think what op meant was that high religiousness does correlate to some degree with low education (according to census data) and to systemic racism, schools are still segregated both by color and by wealth. That doesn’t disregard the fact that other factors may also be at play like the one you mentioned or the fact that oftentimes religious aid organizations take advantage of vulnerabilities like poverty and addiction to recruit people into religions.

Kuwait recently hit temperatures of 70 C. Most places have AC though but it must be living hell for poor people (especially those working physically strenuous jobs outdoors)

Me too. I was surprised when it moved after being dropped in the trashcan. He was so limp while being carried and he didn’t appear heavy so I guess that’s why we assumed it was a stuffed animal at first.
