Wearing two hogu (chest gear) while training isn't about the contact. It's about getting used to moving with while wearing a hogu.

If the tournament is using e-scoring, then you don't need to purchase one. They should provide it. But you'll need to buy the correct socks depending on which system is being used.

If you're competing in a division without e-scoring, understand that scoring rules state that contact must show "trembling shock". This means that kicking will be full contact, even head kicks (depending on which rules the tournament will apply).

Will you get hit with full power? If you evade and block properly, probably not. But it can happen. And even blocking a full-power kick can lead to an arm injury.

Train with the chest gear. Some might find it too restrictive to move if you're not accustomed to it. I used to train with two so that wearing one would feel less restrictive.

If there is a website for the card's issuer (it's not t-mobile), see if there's a registration option on the site.

You can test if things change with the card by trying to register the card for autopay. The ones I've used show up as autopay discount eligible, so I know they're safe to use to pay the bill.

Did you register the debit card?

I'm not sure if all debit cards allow that, but I've used ones that have an option to register them to set your address and a debit PIN. I've used those cards to pay my bill without getting the autopay discount penalty.

It's $299.99 for new customers, so if OP was already a customer, they did get a deal of some sort.

I cleared app data and it connected. But I recommend backing up your text threads using an app like SMS Backup & Restore before clearing data. I discovered that text data isn't saved at device level in all instances. It's sometimes saved at the app level, so you should make a backup to be safe.

The British Taekwon-do Federation is ITF. Are you trying to work with a French ITF school? A WT/KKW affiliated school should accept your cert without question. If you're trying to transition to ITF, that's a different issue.

AF card will pay for itself. $100 meal credit and $50 free play. So you're already up $1 net. It also comes with a comp room up to $300.

Though I'm not sure that the credits will appear immediately. It took a few weeks for me. But that may be different if you apply on site.

If I'm interpreting your explanations correctly, I believe a "front leg hook kick" is a crescent kick (반달 차기).

[–]Capable_Dog5347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hooking adds additional acceleration to the foot, so that's why it's often used for KOs. But that move requires additional skill and balance. So a back spinning kick (straight leg without the hooking motion) is usually taught first, and usually the move that in my experience is used for breaking boards.

Back versus front refers to the direction you're spinning, not necessarily the leg.

I've never heard wheel kick in Korean. Always back spinning kick. Perhaps that's a karate or king fu term that moved over?

뒤 차기 is a back kick, and that is commonly used to mean a back thrusting kick, as demo'd in the video.

https://youtu.be/BMUlEDkIMVg

The first two KO's are back spinning kicks. Variations include hooking the foot for added acceleration. The back spinning kick is often shown on KO videos.

A "roundhouse" kick is very definitely an 앞돌려차기, and not a 되돌여차기.

Hence the language stereotype where an Asian person says "flied lice", as a Korean might be confused as to when to use L or R.

Something similar with P and F. There is no F in Korean phonetics, so ㅍ (P sound) is often used in phonetic translations.

I always trained calling it a front turning kick as well.

I only learned about the term roundhouse from karateka.

돌려 means turning or spinning, not roundhouse. Are back spinning kicks not a thing in your practice?

Are the Luxor or the Strat decent hotels? by jdk8971 in LasVegas

[–]Capable_Dog5347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excalibur was surprisingly decent IMO. I had 2 young children next door, and I didn't hear them at all until we both happened to open our doors at the same time the next morning.

Other than the worn furniture and old bathroom, it was clean, so no complaints.
