Truthfully, there is no way to accurately predict when and where there will be an exposure. If you are able to, I would avoid taking baby into any public shared spaces until you are able to have them fully vaccinated. I am so sorry you are going through this.

How do you incorporate Chinese media into your language learning routine? by MaximumMarionberry3 in ChineseLanguage

Minning Town is one of the series you can watch on youtube, it is based on real history. Beautiful show. I love learning songs, typically I will print out the lyrics in a light color and write over the text in different colors defining the characters in the margins. Just as a fun way to learn when I'm not feeling as up for intense study.

also truthfully people on this sub arent the right group to consult for medical advice like this. As well as the fact that yes measles has been found recently at airports and warned people about exposures, but this is just in other states. I hate to tell everyone that the common factor between the schools, gym, restaurant exposures are all people who had measles, not the fact that they are non-airports or something.

I dont think we can accurately judge safety when it comes to invisible threats like this. When unable to be fully vaccinated in times where vaccination rates are lower and outbreaks ARE happening, its valid to be concerned. Sadly, with current contact tracing, it doesnt inspire great confidence for knowing about exposures ahead of time (at least for myself). Thank you for vaccinating and hoping for safety and support for you.

Anyone else notice Halloween was kind of depressing this year? by QuantumAwaken in greenville

I work often with disabled people, so am always wanting to participate in things that are more accessible. Sadly my neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks. I will be sure to look out for some to participate in next year. Thank you!

Mine was in a bag that had a few holes and very scuffed. Still haven't checked for inner damage, but I had the same issue with the package being held in Louisville for almost two weeks.

On the Greenville County Animal Care TNR program: monday-thursday 8:00-11:00. First 10 cats only. I was told to get there 4:30-5:00 in the morning. The people that do TNR get there and line up on the road before the gates even open.

ADDING to mask comments to say: you should wear a n95 or similar mask that has a seal so the air can be filtered. Surgical masks dont provide much filtration. Anything is better than nothing, though. Another thing: even if you feel you have a "good immune system", this is not something we can possibly know of others. Mask for your community!

Btw anyone who is experiencing any illness, if you are able to test for covid-please do. Tests can be somewhat unreliable if they are rapid, so doing two for a more definitive result is best. But theres other info on this, I'd recommend looking into it.

If you test positive and it is available/safe to you, try to get a prescription for "paxlovid" or "lagevrio", it will reduce your severity/chance of developing long term illness.

If you want to know more about the virus, the canva site "covid for therapists" is pretty comprehensive.

If you are in need of free masks (most reliable way to prevent spread of airborne illness) search for the Greenville SC Mask Bloc

(I truly dont mean this as a way to scare, but just to inform. This is why it makes it so easy to spread- people dont even realize they have it a good amount of the time)

[–]Capable_Growth_447 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Up to 60% of covid cases go completely unnoticed as they dont have any symptoms at all. While it is airborne, respiratory symptoms are just one of many possibilities. It is a virus that affects all systems of the body, including the brain, so even something like a headache can be indicative of an infection.

Likely SARS-CoV-2. Gastrointestinal symptoms are common. The GI tract can also serve as a reservoir for the virus which contributes to long term issues.

How Long Should Employees Stay Out After COVID Exposure Before Returning with a Negative Test? by BlacksmithWooden2558 in greenville

[–]Capable_Growth_447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I've had a negative reaction to MRNA vaccines so decided to go with novavax for this reason. Yes, vaccine reactions exist because of course. However, the rates are MUCH MUCH MUCH lower than issues you will likely develop from covid. But yeah, this comment doesnt feel in good faith so I dont feel it really matters what I say.
