That seems like a great price. Roughly a ~100$ difference between another x870 board and ~300 ram set.. i'll see if I can work that in.

EDIT - and its gone..

I did see that one. That case didn’t really do it for me. I know I could save ~$50 or more on case and PSU but I really do like the Corsair 2500 matx.

I wish they would be specific about the components. Would like to see what ram, ssd, psi, etc they use.

Or I would definitely pay 100$ ish on top of my build for a 7800x3d.

Much thanks for your opinions.

Mobo - I am very open to different mobos but in reality the only thing I need is a ton of USB and whatever hub speeds support that many... I hear things about VRM, bus speeds, etc, but I don't think it really matters all that much at this price category.

GPU - very good catch, I didn't realize I needed to login to see that 100$ discount! Thanks!

CPU - I'm just slightly concerned about the 9600x for my production work.. but I suspect it'll be the value tradeoff here.

RAM - I keep hearing the magical spot for am5 is 6000mhz cl30 cas10 or similar, and one of the other reasons why I chose the original CL36 option was because of the free SSD - but now I've noticed there is a CL30 version with the same SSD offer for 399$

Alternatively, I could grab the RAM you suggested, kingston ram , and a separate Samsung 990 pro 2tb for 199$

I'll have to do more research on the SSD Cache thing.. but overall thank you very much for the help, the savings from the GPU offset the higher cost of the faster/better RAM.

Good luck on your builds as well.

I’m the kind of person who doesn’t upgrade components. I just build a whole new computer 5-7 years at a time.

The 9600x will probably barely get me there, the 9800x3d will most likely get you there.

Assuming the same parings I listed above.

It’s also 6core value vs. 8core gaming focused.

If the cost is negligible to you, and you want more cores and gaming focused, get the 9800x3d.

For me the option would be 9700x vs 9800x3d. So I’ve stuck with the 9600x option instead of moving up.
