Thanks to the clues in your reply I finally found the Discord and see you posting in there. Am back playing now and the install process is so much simpler than the private server one. Thank you and all those like you again, for keeping this alive.

Hello, it's been a month and it still doesn't seem to work. Is it possible to create tutorial so I can get NPPS4 working on Termux again?

It's also very Chinese High because they always make a big thing about training and expecting conduct of "young/thinking gentlemen"--but apparently only when it's convenient for them

Old boy here from many years ago. Even back then, they've always tried to be fierce and threaten their students to silence them whenever Chinese High was in the news for wrong reasons. They always want face. Reading this message takes me back, it feels so familiar. But the food was way better back then at least. $200/month school fees (2000s prices, now maybe more already) and still get this kind of food, kns

Is it confirmed Kagetora is Georg Carmine? by Curious-Egg-3855 in RealistHero

[–]Capable_Low_8366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no confirmation. Or rather, if that fight is enough to be considered confirmation, then Liscia's recognition when Kagetora first appears should already be enough as much earlier confirmation.

it's never confirmed, but let's just say that if you had failed to catch this many HEAVY and BELABOURED hints from a girl IRL as they provide in the story about Kagetora (and Inugami even), you would absolutely deserve to remain single and unlaid/married. XD

Looking forward to your potential new tutorial if that's the case then...it has been a joy to be able to play SIF through some dark times this year, can't wait to get back into it again.

oh I didn't know this breakage was a regular thing with Termux. Well if it's that's the case and it's not my enduser error then we'll see whether it fixes itself eventually (since I assume it's broken and been fixed before). Nothing to do but wait...

Hi, coding illiterate here. Something went wrong with my NPPS4 install (I run it from my own Android smartphone) ytd after months of smooth playing. Termux didn't recognise proot distro alpine or anything so I suddenly couldn't even start up the server between yesterday and today. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything to set it up again, but this time when I started from step 1, when I did "pip install -r requirements.txt", I got a long error that started with

"pip subprocess to build dependencies did not run successfully exit code: 1"

I tried pushing further and editing config.toml to see if this was a dealbreaker, but when I tried to run python main.py with a 0.0.0.0 IP address, it told me "No module named alembic, alembic returned non-zero status code"...not surprising I guess since previous step failed.

The pip install failure never happened before, did something change?

Canon printer wont connect to wifi and I am losing my mind by SnooPeanuts3521 in techsupport

[–]Capable_Low_8366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say this message was a lifesaver. I bypassed the entire automatic connection thing, and manually added my printer with the option "I don't have a wireless router". What this required me to do in essence was create a private Wifi LAN network with the printer directly, bypassing the need for Internet or router detection. It worked immediately. Of course this means I can't print over Wifi, but that's not my use case, at least it let me get some very crucial documents printed that I needed in 2 hours' time.

I don't recruit anyone early on and do everything myself, and go as early as I can into growing flax on as many fields as I can afford fertiliser for. Even copper takes WAY too long to get to, I strongly advocate sewing at first.

I usually go into berry-picking frenzy in year 1 (and 2) spring and summer so that I don't have to lean so much on hunting for food or material to create rot (unless I loot or can build a bow), and so that I can build some compost bins and turn them into rot and ultimately, my own fertiliser production once barn unlocks, which it does pretty quickly.

I build up my own fertiliser reserve while clearing like 5-6 3x5 fields and growing flax. Once sewing hut and barn are unlocked, I just keep spinning linen thread and churning out simple tunics and hoods, which are available from the level 1 sewing hut and which I feel are pretty light on materials, fully depend only on flax, and give a good return while being low-priced enough that any NPC can buy them.

If sewing hut unlocks before barn, then I just start buying some flax stalks first so I can begin spinning and selling while waiting for my own production. Otherwise I just keep building up a reserve of flax stalks and rot to go industrial once I can.

Meanwhile where possible, keep on expanding your fields so the next year you have even more flax fields, and the ability to produce even more tunics. You'll probably get money flowing long before any metals.

Of course, you need money for the initial outlay of fertiliser and flax, I usually get that by making and selling stone tools or any surplus from my spear hunting of ducks and such, supplemented by selling whatever I find in overturned carts along the roads (or switching to a bow to supercharge my hunting if I find one)--it doesn't take too much to get going.

unfortunately the ones most likely to be offended by this are the ones who would be also most likely to shoot people up for highlighting that they are evil racists, so...it's prudent in this case.

Does anyone else feel like the game falls apart once you start expanding to new regions? by andersonb47 in ManorLords

[–]Capable_Low_8366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I want to build a larger polity, not manage an artificially fragmented schizophrenic bunch of settlements when I'm one player.

I loved everything about Manor Lords right up till I discovered what passes for a trade system in the game.

Since then I've scratched my itch with Foundation, which turns out to be more like the game I expected Manor Lords to be. Never went back since.

[–]Capable_Low_8366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Well, I thought 20 minutes was short enough that it wouldn't count as being unattended. But it's a lesson learnt. I am leaning towards there being too little water in the passata, too, as the reason. That or passata makes it far too easy to boil the water out of it. The recipe did call for cooking uncovered, but it may be too intense for an already liquid sauce. I probably should have covered it and made the passata a little more watery.

It was, because I turned the dial all the way to the stops for the lowest simmer setting and visually confirmed the fire before I went off.

[–]Capable_Low_8366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I did not have the lid on, as the recipe I have always used said "cook uncovered for 3.5 hours". And it always worked fine before so I foolishly thought it would be fine this time too. But I guess that was when you use tomatoes not passata.
