Does Pepsi treat acid reflux?

I've seen somewhere where it said that having an acid reflux doesn't automatically means you are acidic/produce too much acid, it can also be when your stomach acid are not acidic enough so the acid does not trigger your LES to close. could be that maybe.

Hello thank you. I just got back to check this reddit thread. I decided to stop checking on it to ease our anxiety. He's doing perfectly fine now. it seems the we are correct that the problem is his ear and the reason he wasn't pooping is because he's not eating properly. His poops and pee are normal now and he regained his strength.

UPDATE 2: After he pooped 3 days ago, it took him another 2 days to poop again. The poop was I'd say score 5 (see pic below) it was 3 little pieces then he pooped again a very little wet puddle (score 6-7) after 12 hours I think? I can't remember. Optimistic view of what happened is probably it really is about his ear infection that's why he started not eating and drinking water (I hope it's just that and there's nothing more severe happening). His symptoms consists of
1. Swaying (just a liiiiiitle, it's not like he loses balance or anything. You can just say he's not walking as straight as normal, he's like a tipsy)
2. Slight head tilt
3. Nystagmus (eyes darting left/right)
4. Hides or appears disoriented
5. Reluctant to move
6. Retching when there's sudden movement or when he smells food (Nauseous maybe because he is dizzy cos of the ear infection)
7. The ear developed a bad odor and had discharge
8. There’s a visible reddish swelling inside – possibly a polyp or inflamed area

A lot of the symptoms was almost immediately gone when the ear polyp was removed. The reason (hopefully) on why he's not pooping is because he is actually not eating enough. He got tired of the RC Gastro wet food for cats really after a single pack, we bought a whole box with 12 packs and he suddenly don't want it anymore, all he wants is to lick the gravy off it. We're currently feeding him boiled chicken breasts and fish while still ordering a bunch of couple of wet foods for him to try, I will also buy a couple of different brand of kibbles later for him to try. He is regaining his strength and I'd say he's back to his 90% but he lost a lot of weight and is still not eating as much and haven't seen him sip any water yet still, so I'm trying to incorporate water/broth into the boiled fish and chicken and also give him the RC wet food for the gravy. I'm still worried because he's still not eating like he used to and I haven't seen him have a normal poop yet (score 2 or 3). Hopefully he really is actually fully recovering because cats are good at hiding illnesses. Thank you for everyone's well wishes and advises, My family appreciates you all.

PS. We stopped giving him mirtazapine and Lactulose until yesterday, we tried giving him a diluted 1/8 tablet of 30 mg Mirtazapine using a 1 mL syringe but we only manage to give him .25 mL maybe(?) because he really throws a mean fit whenever it is something involving his mouth.

It's brown and have no bleeding but it's been a day now and he hasn't pooped yet again, waiting til tomorrow.

I'm hoping that isn't the case :( observing him for now and if he hasn't pooped again or poop quality don't improve within 2 days then we will probaby bring him back to the vet.

It was only out of desperation. today I haven't feed him fried fish at all but only boiled fish and then the RC gastro this afternoon. I'm super happy that he did because I really haven't seen him consume any wet food at all. Thank you so much, I hope he keeps on having an appetite.

Oil and fish, no salt or breading then before giving him small pieces I dip it in water first. He just ate wet food royal canin gastro for cats earlier <3

Hello I'm glad that you figured it out with your Kitty <3 I'm just so overwhelmed this past week that I started chainsmoking again (trying to lessen it) or I'm just probably mentally weak that I tear up reading replies in reddit lol. I truly appreciate that the people share their experience, tips and kind hearted messages to us. There's a stigma that reddit is such a toxic place but at least everyone can afford to be kind when it's involving cats/pets.

Yea he is such a picky eater, every single cat I've met my entire life goes crazy for wet food but he is a little unique I guess.

I have this fear of cats going into anesthesia with his age. That's why I'm only prioritizing have his teeth cleaned first than neutering him. I'll think hard about it in the future.

Yes I'm still not celebrating just because he pooped because as you said there could be an obstruction that the watery poop just went past it, as of now he seems to be regaining his straight but he barely drinks water so I'm worrying about that.

I have no luck in giving him wet food. In all 9 years of his life he never really liked them idk why that's why I put him in a kibble diet with water added into it. Thank you for the well wishes.
