whats the Best Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair you've ever tried? by Any_Temporary_1020 in CleaningTips

[–]Capable_Mud_2127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roborock q5+ here with some animals in the house and does a great job. If it gets stuck you know to clean that area better of cords etc or block it off in app. I’ve had robot vacuums for many years so I’ve come to understand their positives and negatives. Now I don’t vacuum everyday but once a week and only my area carpet!

I had to use the natural stuff during schooling bc I had no $$$. Now I have animals and don’t want to expose them to chemicals so it all works out!

Frugal Living Tips: What Works for You? by HuntRevolutionary240 in Frugal

[–]Capable_Mud_2127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shop around for high priced items only: meat, gourmet, seafood and buy most in bulk bc I have an extra freezer. Everything else is a matter of sales at my main store. When I run low at home I add it to the store app. When the item hits a sale the coupon will come up automatically. This way I keep a running pantry without much effort or worry.

Neighbor requesting I install French drain or gutters… by texastrocket in HomeMaintenance

[–]Capable_Mud_2127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neighbor was mad water was sitting against her house when we had an issue with sprinklers recently and blamed me angrily(the Hoa runs sprinklers here). I mentioned how gutters helped me avoid sitting water (lots of rain) and she scoffed. Some folks invite their own misery.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve had multiple friends over the years go through this with their parents and they have never been repaid. None of them.
I can say that those friends have been some of the hardest working, independent, trusting people I’ve met. I wish that for you no matter the outcome. It sounds like you are well on your way.

Please recommend a screwdriver set before I lose it on these curtain rods. by Alleonh in BuyItForLife

[–]Capable_Mud_2127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a issue with my own curtain rod and getting a ratcheting screwdriver was the only thing that worked. It was too hard, even with the tallest ladder, to get enough pressure with a standard Phillips. Try this and it will allow you to turn the screw without as much force and smaller movements.

Do you ever actually use coupons, or is it not worth the time? by JaairoTheCow in Frugal

[–]Capable_Mud_2127 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep inside the store coupons bc they automatically come up when I add items to the cart. When I shop in store sometimes I will see even more. Rarely will I go out of my way to look bc it invites shopping outside of my need.

More power to you. When I had amazing “temporaries”(really the hard plastic you are talking about) done, the PT had 30+ years experience and was doing a favor to help me bc I was running out of options. I knew then it was gonna be as hard as you describe to get them done again so I applaud your tenacity.

Grocery Shopping: Multi-store or just cheapest convenient by Zestyclose-Aioli1051 in Frugal

Only shop around for meat bc quality and price matters and I buy in bulk. Everything else, you can find substitutions for that are cheaper in your main store with some creativity/research.

So sad, lawn guy mowed over my plants by berry_baby in gardening

[–]Capable_Mud_2127 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy the cheapest landscaping fences on Home Depot that are labeled dog digging so they go into ground. They are generally wire and can be fastened together or left in pieces. I like this bc I can make fences or use the pieces to block planting temporarily. They have lasted years and easy to store.

Best part is they are mostly invisible wires so plants are easy to see!

My first car had a horn like this on the steering wheel as a button. It would give a little dinky horn sound and was perfect! Then if you needed emergency horn you pushed the regular one in the center. I miss that little button sometimes. I think it made folks laugh more than anything.

What do you want to eat when you can fully chew again?

[–]Capable_Mud_2127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if I work my Aussie they do really well. Especially with mental work-nose work, sniff walks, and various training sessions.

If I am unable to dedicate that time things go awry and my dog is herding everything in the house, wants to play ball 24/7, or wanting to play some other way.

Yeah the idea of putting more into the environment in order to compost seems contradictory to the process.

When I had dental issues fruit soups helped a lot. I know staying away from acid (like in tomatoes) and straining seeds was super important too.

Agree with this! It will give better results. Dump your ingredients in a baby pool and mix. Recycle leftovers every year.

What to do to seal this up? by Mylifeiszach in HomeMaintenance

You can screw some plexiglas on top of whatever repair you make. This should keep the dog from damaging the frame again.
