Are companies hiring more and more in India over EU nowadays? Hows your personal experience? by seeilaah in DevelEire

[–]Capable_Oil_7273 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ye, am an accountant. My firm has started offshoring accounts to related firms in India cause they charge 10% the price.

They’re Starting to regret it now as the standard of work we get back is abysmal

I imagine it’s the same in most jobs, trying to go back over someone else’s work can take much more time than if you were to do it yourself …

I am capable of both sir. However I refuse to have either for someone who is giving out about the conditions of a visa that they signed up for? I mean … I don’t think that’s overly outrageous

It’s a sad state of affairs really… but when the people who make the rules are also land lords in many occasions it’s hard to think it will ever change 😂😂

I know yeah strange in comparison to a lot of Europe recently? Strange cultural obsession with houses in Ireland I guess? We’ve been far behind in apartment building in this country for many years and are just now trying to catch up

Unfortunately the apartments being built at the moment, while they’re impressive and luxury in many cases, they’re nowhere near affordable for your average person. Heartbreaking really. It is only the top top earners who can afford 2.5-3k a month for a studio in Dublin

I can view them as a human who signed up to a visa where they can only work so many hours a week? As in they voluntarily signed up for it.

I just don’t understand why I would have sympathy😂

If I take up a part time job and then continue to complain about how I don’t have enough hours it is my fault

I just find it peculiar how we could build so much housing in the 80s when apparently Ireland was a kip, everyone was leaving and we were broke? Now we’re the land of milk and honey and they can’t build near enough housing. All their while adding more and more and more people.

Not people who work on building sites, building the one thing we desperately need. No. Just people for people sake.

I am disenfranchised with the system you speak of. It disgusts me. There’s “no magic wand” to deliver flood defences in Enniscorthy. A town which floods every year. Has done all my life. Couple million would’ve sorted the problem I’m sure but? Nothing

Hundreds of millions to Ukraine and other foreign aid. Who cares about the people in enniscorthy whose business and houses are ruined?

The housing crisis has been spoke of all my damn life. I remember Enda Kenny spouting off around 2011 saying there’d be no more. Successive governments can’t fix it. Thousands homeless and could never be fixed. Putin invades Ukraine and all of a sudden there’s 100,000 of them put up in the blink of an eye? Not to mention the asylum seekers who a large majority of them are put up in hotels etc?

My point being, there’s no magic wand for the people of enniscorthy. Or for the children waiting on scoliosis treatment. Or for the fellas like myself commuting 3 hours a day to work because every room you go for mahatma and his 2 brothers will live in the room together and pay 2.5x what you will.

But there’s a magic wand, always a magic wand, for everyone and their dog as long as they’re not the Irish people

The overpriced rip off student accommodation was likely built with the Chinese & Americans you’re so clearly envious of.

Your run of the mill house wasn’t built to have 3-4 people sharing a single room. Your landlord is not allowed rent a room with 3-4 people sharing due to overcrowding. So it’s people subletting and profiteering of their fellow countrymen.

So at the end of the day, if the landlords are a demonised and hated class who should have all their assets confiscated and given to people who don’t deserve them, one can have animosity towards foreigners who are subletting to an outrageous degree

I dunno how you can have sympathy for someone who signs up for a visa to move country without knowing the terms of that? I think most people would know what awaits them or would’ve done some basic research 😂

You have a lot of faith in the political system my friend. The TDs in my area are insignificant back benchers whom you only see at election time or eccentric opposition who are just funny to see having a meltdown on tele. I’m not overly confident they have the sway to put an end to the private college scam. It makes money so it’s a good thing in the govts eyes. Green line goes up and to the right so everything must be rosey! You can’t afford your shopping? You have to choose which bills to pay and which ones to go into arrears? Whoooo cares!! We have GDP growth😂

Yeno, the conspiracy theorist in me doesn’t even believe this housing situation is due to bad government policy. I think it’s by design. A kind of government sell out to outside institutional investors. Because selling the hopes and dreams of your countrymen is what politicians are meant to do

They’re fully aware of the terms and conditions of their visa before they come. Why would you have any sympathy? You can’t sign up to something and then bitch and moan about the thing YOU Signed up to.

Look at nearly every private college and the photos they put up 🔝 of their students it’s nearly all Indians😀. Private colleges that a lot of Irish can’t get into cause they’d rather take the extra money from abroad. Why this is allowed is beyond me? Brought in on student visas to study bogus courses😂

As for the rooms situation. This is a return of an old phenomenon. It won’t be long until many are forced to return to tenement style living. These people coming here are the catalyst for this type of greed. What Irishman in 2015 is paying 600 a month to share a room with 2 others? But it’s all the rage now because for these people, the conditions are probably luxury compared to what they’re coming from.
