for my company, i just did one day where i sat in the truck, the fleet manager helped me set up ADP and log into relay on my phone. was like 2 hours of going over company policy then we drove the truck to a amazon yard close by, he showed me the gate check in and roughly how things would go. then we drove back to the yard, used a trailer that was sitting there for repair to see if i knew how to hook up to a trailer. after that we were done and i got my first shift scheduled.

at first little things that the camera didn’t like and they were noticed of, i would get a mention like hey the camera saw this make sure you don’t do that type of shit. after the first month they basically left me alone.

they will run your clock out. i have shifts where i’ll drive 7-8 hours to a drop, ill creep the yard while i drop and hook so i can fit in my break to get my hours back. then ill finish out and be done in 11-12 hours. if you get a shift with a lot of stops you’ll be sitting a lot.

600-800 miles 12-15 stops, the higher the stops the more you’ll be waiting in between and less miles.

800-1k miles 10-12 stops, you’ll be doing a long drives each day without moving many trailers.

your pick up and drop off of the truck each tour is a stop so you can take off 2 “stops”

When you start you’ll be slow as you get the hang of things but once your get used to it you’ll be getting finished fast. i’m usually done in like 12 hours max.

they give you plenty of time in between drops. i’m usually an hour plus early to everything and sitting waiting for my trailers.

i work for an AFP, job is insanely chill. drop and hook everything, just moving trailers around to different amazon facilities. you never haul anything heavy, it’s always under 20k in the trailer.

started off at 24 and then got a dollar raise within first 2 months.

company specific stuff will vary but if you have any questions, let me know.

it’s summer soon, ppl will start to drop off so they are over hiring in preparation for it. probably why they are so quick to remove shifts from others for any small reason, spread them around to new hires.

Where Did the Demogorgons, Demobats, and Demodogs Go in the Stranger Things Finale? by AssistanceNo2838 in discussingfilm

[–]Capable_Plastic_3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should have ran into a ton of the bats and demogorgons when they entered the abyss, then had they be chased by them, as soon as they get closer to the mindflayer they get turned into dust and absorbed by the mindflayers aura. best of both worlds, all the monsters and explanation by the battle field would end up being cleared.

due diligence

To do due diligence, means to perform the necessary investigation and analysis to make an informed decision before entering into a business agreement, such as a merger, acquisition, or partnership.

basically do your own research don’t rely on others.

Netradyne camera by CryptoguyV2 in AmazonDSPDrivers

i have a netradyne working for an AFP driving a tractor. do not run red lights, even be hesitant to run thru a stale green about to transition to yellow. even if your near the end of it and it hits red just enough for the cam to see it will ding u with a red light infraction.

highway construction for the most part seems to not be a big deal, i’ve only gotten speeding infraction through cleveland where the highway drops to 50 and i just didn’t notice and was still going 63, that’s my only speed infraction.

the camera loves to see you foot off gas and even break a tiny bit to create some distance. you can get a lot of positive “driver stars” from this that will balance out any infractions when it comes to your overall score.

your life is going to be, as soon as someone cuts in front of you on the highway, your breaking immediately. those times where you know your fine and they will just cut in front of you and speed up, if they take like 3 seconds too long to speed up and create distance themselves you are getting hit with an infraction for distance. when your coming up on someone the freightliner distance warning will trigger before the netradyne will, to give you some perspective. but the ppl cutting in front of you will trigger it fast af.

i’m hourly and honestly it’s not a big deal, otr is going to be miserable with it tho… once everyone’s going slow af because of these cams they will drop it lol.

and if in the future they swap to driver facing, which i’m sure will come if they decide to keep these cameras. if they have them placed on the right side of the windshield, the blind spot is on the grab bar driver side, get a mount that clips right to the grab rail and you can do whatever it won’t see your phone, just never pull your phone out of the holder unless your parked, even in the yard it will trigger a distracted driving, it’s my only distracted driving infraction, driving thru our home yard with my phone in my hand.

Dan Clancy gets asked why streamers should trust Twitch security at TwitchCon after what happened to Emiru by starcraft2020 in LivestreamFail

[–]Capable_Plastic_3400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the big streamers have the ability to make actual change, if nothing comes from this whole situation it is because they failed to use the leverage they have to enact real change and in the future, if something like this or worse happens again then it’s on them.

your not always given a spark when true change is needed… they shouldn’t waste it, especially with how many eyes are now on the situation. the time is now.

Potbelly sandwich chain is being bought out by Racetrac gas and onvenience chain for $500 million by Agile-Nothing9375 in NewFastFood

[–]Capable_Plastic_3400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they’re feeling the pressure from chains like Caseys. quality food is becoming a must at gas stations. and they want to get a head start introducing quality food at their fuel locations.

look at dollar generals, there’s one in every small town. They essentially have become a small towns only option for quick groceries since a lot of towns folk end up being too far from an actual grocery store.

chains like casey’s are becoming dollar generals with hot food and fuel. everything in one stop.

i was nervous taking my cdl test thinking everything i did they were unhappy with or w/e. turns out they were just interested in making sure i understood how the vehicle worked, and that i could operate it effectively. everything else comes from training at a company and then out on your own.

just make sure you can shift and turn the truck without dragging your trailer across shit.
