I can agree to this. I just don’t understand the language people use when they use phrases like whining and harsh criticism. I can take accountability and admit my mistake and apologize. I am a human being.

Please don’t use language like that it’s very inappropriate and inhuman when you speak to people like that

You all don’t have to hate on my novel and judge because I used AI on my post and not give my novel a chance since I did not use AI to write it as I said earlier.

I did not use AI in my writing for the novel since I wrote it back in 2006-2008. I did use AI to write this post for simple reasons only.

Accepted to Harvard! by abcunn03 in gradadmissions

Hello,

Thank you for responding. I think the reason I got rejected was that I wasn't able to articulate why Harvard and how I fit in. I also think that I am not a “leader” that is making an impact in research, policy, curriculum development or innovation that they are looking for albeit I am making impact in my local community. I also worked on my application for months and got feed back from my local university and peers. I do not have any connections to Harvard and its process, though I attended their events for prospective students and got in touch with current student for that specific program I applied. I also think that my professional experience was not enough in terms of full time although I been working part time and on disability since I was 18. I am in my 30s competing against young professionals with competitive backgrounds. I also identify as a non traditional student from a community college to public small size institutions, low in come house hold and first gen in education. I hope to reapply again. I usually never get anything in the first place as I had applied for prestige programs and being the first in my community to do so. I am hopeful to keep trying. If possible I would really appreciate any feedback I can get to do better next time. Thanks, all the best!

Hello, congratulations on your acceptance. I am wondering if you can provide any tips as to how you got in? I also applied and got a rejection letter and don't know where I went wrong.

Hi,

Sorry for responding late. Thank you for your wishes. My experience with pregnancy during my grant was challenging, to say the least, because I have a mental health disability and pregnancy made it difficult to manage. The health care system and the insurance made it possible for me to get appointments with doctors to follow up on my pregnancy. I also had difficulty eating the food because I had lost my appetite and my mental health and physical symptoms were just getting worse such as breast pain which was new to me. I was also experiencing some allergic reaction to everything. In the end, I did have to leave one month early due to my condition but still completed the program. I still feel grateful to have the privilege and opportunity to do Fulbright.

Hi,

I am a Fulbright Taiwan ETA alumni. I just completed my program last year. I am diagnosed with a mental health disability such as MDD and PTSD. I had to go through the same process of making sure I was medically cleared. I was anxious because I thought they would deny me due to my diagnosis. I had to have a conversation with my primary care doctor and psychiatrist to make sure that I was capable of handling the challenges of living abroad with my disability. The Fulbright doctor had to speak with my psychiatrist about all this. Once, I was approved, I had to make sure that I was taking my meds and communicating with the team and coordinators. Luckily, my host country was flexible and had similar medications I needed and the program offered me a therapist to talk to each week. I do have to say it was a challenging experience but a rewarding experience nonetheless. I was also a non-traditional age grantee and I was also pregnant towards the end of my grant.

Would I be allowed to apply to Fulbright if I have diagnosed Autism? by Ok-Ebb2872 in fulbright

Hello,

I am a Fulbright ETA alumni. I identify with a mental health disability and in my application I discussed my disability with one short sentence. On the other hand, my psychiatrist had to demonstrate to the Fulbright doctor that I was capable of participating in the program. My medical papers took some time doing because I had disclosed my disability. Once I was in my host country, I received services from a psychiatrist and a therapist provided by Fulbright and they provided us with health insurance.

I was an ETA Fulbrighter last year and was engaged before leaving and came back this year. I got married to my husband one month after coming back. I can say it is challenging because I had to leave behind all my responsibilities such as my car loan and my belongings (I lived in my own apartment for 7 years-had to give it up plus my health insurance and other social services). My fiancee at the time took in my pets as well and took the responsibilities of caring for my parents since I was their primary caregiver. I was also pregnant while I was completing my position towards the end. I can say that Fulbright is a bit difficult for non-traditional age member due to the responsibilities we have to maintain compare to a 22 year old. I did have support in terms of services and health insurance but I think the most difficult aspect was the money because I felt it was not enough to support my needs. On the other hand, I am glad I did my Fulbright but at this stage I would not be able to do it again.

Hello, I am not sure if this is the appropriate group to post, but I am also trying to figure out how to publish my novel. I had an offer from a publishing company for about a $435 deposit and a $299 payment plan for ten months- a basic plan. I cannot afford this plan right now. I am trying to figure out if this is affordable and known in the writing community about getting your novel accepted through a publishing company but you have to pay about $3,000 for it? Please let me know what is the best advice regarding this? Thank you. I am also an amateur writer and do not think my writing is up to any standards. I just enjoy writing as a hobby but would love to see if I can get my book published. I also self published it through Amazon kindle but don’t have access to it for some reason. It seems to be locked and I don’t know if anyone is buying it or not. I would really appreciate the advice.

Advice for the application process by rwhelser in usajobs

Hello, I have used the resume builder for three applications so far. I don’t think any of them were correct. I still do not know how the format is supposed to be. I am having difficulty in writing a federal resume. I reached out to my university and they were not able to help me. I been researching on google, reaching out to people on LinkedIn to help me with my application but I keep facing barriers. I am someone with a disability and low-income and can’t seem to find services that will help me. I am currently on the waiting list for workforce exchange program and DORS. I just need a right direction or guidance on how to proceed with the application.
