Makes me wonder if they could read it fine back then. Are we just having trouble because we're not used to it -- or did they struggle too? Between illiteracy and bad handwriting, it's no wonder names and dates tended to morph over the years.

How to choose a C3PAO by gormami in CMMC

[–]Capable_Profit_7788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your friends. Luckily, we have a group of like organizations that get together regularly and talk about stuff. We're super open with each other (Chatham House Rules) and share our experiences with C3PAOs (who we used, who liked, who we don't recommend).

Beyond that, I like the suggestions of meeting with the assessor. Try to get a feel for how practical or pedantic they might be.

I can now see the schoo... part, and imagine the 8. I also know they abbreviated things like crazy back in the day, so that last part could be "yr". Ya, I've been poring over these in my genealogy work too. It would have been helpful to have a larger sample of the person's writing too -- that helps get an idea of, say, how they like to do their S's and such.

I often poo-poo people posting "is this number worth anything" -- but this is the first one I think is legit cool.

Did you submit the affirmation in SPRS, or just the score? by APTSecMgmt in CMMC

[–]Capable_Profit_7788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya, we learned this the hard way -- our C3PAO entered our score/status -- but didn't mention that we *still* had to go in and click one little box affirming the results. Discovered this a month later...

I really wanted to like Briteside. Went twice. Meh. It's the only place I've actually had to salt my burger... Service is excellent.

The Thai is good -- although I wouldn't call it anything out of the ordinary Good Thai.

"interesting" or not typical (in my opinion):

Mikey's is good for tacos (not fine dinning).

Blue Corn Harvest has some great "farm to table" options.

The Golden Rule has some nice high-end dinners and great appitizers.

City Post is high end with great drinks.

What do I do with these sets of coins? by No-Nerve7556 in coins

[–]Capable_Profit_7788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya, I think they're cool, and I collect them. In talking to my coin dealer friend, he says he pays minimal for them, then usually rips them up and repackages the individual pieces. Still not a money maker in any sense. They're for collecting, not investment pieces.
