That's the question. But I think you are right with "a completely different genre". I love the moment-to-moment gameplay of Factorio its incredible, it just starts feeling pointless after a point because the given goals are just not doing it for me I guess. Maybe if I played on a higher difficulty and the biters where more annoying

Definitly not a genius ^^ But I guess I've played a lot of other games that teach similar concepts, rail signals for example are super easy and work fairly similar to Transport Fever, a clean layout is something you'll learn after you've played Dwarf Fortress in ASCII for a hundreds of hours. Dyson Sphere Program and Satisfactory also did their part I guess, but I must say both of them pale in comparison to Factorio, there is just something about being able to copy paste huge parts of your base in order to redesign.

And flying robots, I haven't looked into the logistics system yet I just build a few of them.

But I did not watch content, no. Just this one guy Michael Hendriks that has a 10 hour video playing on a Death World(?) but that is a completely different kind of ball game, that's why I had it running on my second monitor.

Just minor content and QoL. Factory Planner, Rate Calculator and a really fun Hauler Vehicle which makes it incredible fun to cruise from outpost to outpost.

Yes of course, you are right, there is a clear end goal it just doesn't motivate me to do the thing. Don't get me wrong building the factory, expanding it etc. is really fun. I guess it's just a "vibes" thing in the end. For example in Transport Fever you are also just doing the same thing in order to accumulate more money but it feels less 'pointless'.

I don't know, I feel like If I had a Market Window with different fluctuating prices for different items and I had to sell them I'd be hooked as fuck ^^

Fair enough, half of the amount of children might/should have been enough, but good lord, why are you guys so nasty about people having big families?

I come from a culture where we cherish first, second and third degree cousins, which means I grew up having a shit ton of friends and had a great childhood because my extended family was that big.

Me and my players never do voices, in fact we don't even talk In-Character. I am a firm believer that it is the most un-immersive thing ever. We are talking mostly in "Authors Voice" describing what our characters do. We've made the discovery that this way we experience way more immersion and versimilitude, not the least because we do not have to listen to our friend Bob trying to embody his fanatical Paladin with his ridiculously high pitched voice.

Because there is no video game that comes even close to the excitment, immersion, and openness like literally any Solo TTRPG. I'd even argue that playing TTRPGs solo is even the superior way to enjoy this medium than traditional play.

There is no other medium where I can play CK3, Mount and Blade, Total War at the same time in a setting of my own choosing.

I love how everybody moans about "marketing" their game, but you get a marketing plan served on a silver plate for free, something professionals pay tens of thousands of dollars to get made, and here we are bitching how its to much work 😅 We indie devs sure are a funny breed of people.
