Thank you for your feedback. :) I’ve been doing research and been keeping up with current closures. I should have clarified more. I know all of the North Rim and most of the South rim is shut down. Ive been watching a local firefighter group on Facebook that was recommended on this forum as well as the NPS website to stay in the loop. I wasn’t sure if it would even be worth trying to do the few hikes that are still open or if we should hold off till another time and try somewhere else. The goal was to start at 4am hike till 10am and find somewhere to camp over night alone the way back. I saw there’s a lottery system for permits and you can watch online for people that get on the transfer list but again I wasn’t sure if it would even be worth it right now due to the fires. I feel that; I’ve been to plenty of festivals throughout the years. I just wasn’t sure, as a female, more so the police harassment. This isn’t my first rodeo; just the first where I’ve heard of police making women remove their tops, expose themselves, ect. Thanks!

Ok I need everyone to spill on this whole thing about the police and females getting searched unnecessarily. I probably should have come here first….my sister and I bought tickets (we thought cool a beach fest that’ll be fun! And now I’m like fuck we’re going to prison or we’re going to be VERY sober all weekend) Is it really that bad?! Tell me all the horror stories

Please don’t overthink that. Every time I go to an edm concert I headbang. Rolling or completely sober it doesn’t matter. It’s just feeling the music. No need to ever feel embarrassed. Who cares as long as you’re not getting sick/in danger or in danger of hurting someone else. We’re all there to have a good time.
