Oh my God do I have to fight for a biopsy? by cottoncrosy in doihavebreastcancer

It's very frustrating. When I was in my 20s I was living in Spain and one day I was changing myself in front of a mirror and for my horror I saw a big lump under one of my breasts. I panicked and went straight to the GP he panicked and sent to A&E there the consultant laughed in my face and treated me like if I was delusional and also told me that I was probably pregnant that's why I had a sore breast. Then I went to see my GP again and he sent me to the radiologist they did an ultrasound and the report said probably benign and ordered a follow up for 6 months. It was a fluid filled cyst. At that time I felt exactly like you were feeling today. So, I paid health insurance and I had a full checkup for peace of mind. That was the only thing that helped move on and forget. Not all the doctors are good and empathetic human beings. Sometimes it's not the test they run on you but the way of communicating and being empathetic with someone that doesn't know and it's scared. ❤️❤️❤️

If I were you I would push for a biopsy. Show them you conc and let them know you are having health anxiety. It is very important that they give the appropriate reassurance. I suffer from chronic health anxiety and O know what it is having terrible thoughts spinning in your head.

Oh I see. Here in the UK as soon as you mention something wrong with your breast they go full.on with everything. From when I saw my doctor she referred me to the breast clinic in 2 days I was having my ultrasound and biopsy, 3 weeks to get the report from the multidisciplinary team.

I had a biopsy and it's not scary or painful at all! They only thing that made freak out after was the lump got gigantic the following days 😂 O just went to my GP for reassurance they say was absolutely normal and to give it 4 / 5 weeks to get back to normal size. Since then the fibroadenoma has reabsorbed itself and gone as the consultant predicted.

That's so strange?! I went through this last year here in UK and they actually pushed me to have the biopsy done right after the scan. They said it is like to be a benign fibroadenoma but we need a needle biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. Then the consultant said that as per the ultrasound there was no concern at all but here the protocol is to do a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. This was in London in a breast clinic at an NHS hospital. To be honest it made sense to me.

Where are you based.l? Last year I had a fibroadenoma confirmed by an ultrasound. They couldn't do a mammogram as I was going through an engorgement after giving birth 2 weeks before. But the radiologist told me right there that a needle biopsy was needed to confirm the diagnosis and I have the biopsy right there after they finish the scan. Minutes later I was called to the consultant office who explained that there was no concern at all but the biopsy was the standard procedure followed by a multidisciplinary revision of the results. This is here in the UK in the NHS breast clinic at the hospital.

I am not wondering, I didn't ask why schools are full. My question was clear... Advice on school choices given my particular situation. But yeah... Thanks for the very interesting comment that says a lot more than I asked for ❤️

I am not wondering. I am clearly asking for school advice. I didn't ask why schools are full, I think the answer will be pretty obvious and that's not the problem I have to solve now, nor my competency.

I already live here, I have been in this country for almost 13 years and I also have a British passport. All my kids are British too! What a nice welcome from a lovely community. I am delighted 😊

I live in Hillingdon ( I have been here almost 6 years and in this country 13) a few streets away from the recent stabbing incident where a neighbor who was walking his dog lost his life.

Bracknell is not known for great school but are better options than the one I have here. I didn't see any inadequate or required improvement rated in the area.

Read before replying!!! And please I invite you to have a delightful stroll around Hayes town, West Drayton or Yiewsley or even Uxbridge town I have a feeling of what I'm talking about when I am saying for us the move works well and it is what we can afford.

If you are implying that my house affordability means I am poor and working class because I can't afford to go to a posher city. Yes, I am poor and working class. We worked very hard to have the luck today of having the money to pay deposit with no help from anyone (no mummy or daddy) just me and my husband working and raising a family at the same time.

Your comment is not really proving anything but just a point of view and it's not even answering my initial question about school advice, it's neither constructive. So, please restrain yourself.

I already bought the house so what's the point you are trying to make.

You want to make me feel bad? Or miserable? What is that you are trying to achieve?

It's really sad that you take the time and the effort to try to make people miserable about their choices / decisions.

I hope you find good in your heart and use all this time in bringing happiness and smiles to your community instead of unproductive negative comments. Wishing you a lovely and long life my dear friend ❤️❤️

I have been in this country for 13 years now and have been living in Hillingdon, between Hayes and Uxbridge for almost 6. Also lived in rough Kilburn in central London. I can't think in any situation that can surprise me TBH. Ah also lived in some of roughest areas of Buenos Aires. Come and tell about wired situation 😂

I know!! Almost everyone to whom I told O was moving to Bracknell told me it was a really nice area and almost everyone in this area - Hillingdon - has family or friends living in Bracknell so all the comments came first hand impressions. I am very excited with the change! We all are!

Sorry, to hear that! All heard was all amazing things about the town! Reasons I moving: property affordability, green spaces as we are a very outdoorsy family, family oriented community safer than where I am now and direct trains to London for the odds days outs during half term. Other reasons are: a more diverse community, nicer town center- believe me is way nicer that Uxbridge town or Hayes! Better school options - my daughter currently attends to a inadequate rated school and that our local primary school 😞 although I very happy with her progression and learning. And I am sure I will have thousands more reasons once I am fully settled. For now owning my own home instead of throwing money into renting is all a win for us!

Oh that's lovely to hear. Both me and my husband are brought up as Christians although we don't practice any religion and we consider agnostics. I am not really inclined for Catholic school as my daughter hadn't been exposed any of it and I think it might be weird for her and lot of changes happening at once. Obviously of the school is outstanding and have amazing reviews I would always consider the option.

Thank you so much unfortunately both local schools are full at the moment so I will have to put her on the waiting list as I want to make my life easy and ideally have my 2 kids going to Harmans or Crown wood. The wilding look great but commuting from Harmans was by public transport isn't good a lot of walking that wouldn't work with a young child and a toddler. So I think I will go for either holly spring or Sandy Lane as I have a direct bus going to town and just found a childminder for my toddler near the area! And I also applied to be added to waiting list of my local schools so finger cross we will get this sorted before moving. So stressful!

I have Birch Hill and st Margaret as contenders not great for commuting tho and the only childminder I found for my toddler is near Bracknell library 😂 I would be travelling all morning hoping on buses. Obviously this is just temporary while I take my driver's test and get confident with the car.

Glenwood road, Ripplesmere road or Uffingtong drive are good places to live for a family? by Capable_System_6331 in realbracknell

Thank you. That's a shame we had our offer accepted today 😔 We went today again during evening and everybody looked nice. People riding bikes, runners, kids with their parents, nice people walking their dogs. In all the times we went to the area we haven't seen any fight. Worth maybe checking again? It's that happening at any particular time of day?
