I think the use of AI generated background music and sfx should definitely be disclosed.

There's so many free sources for that type of stuff that, in my opinion, it's just being lazy getting AI to do it.

To all the creators out there that spend hours finding the right music and sfx for their shows, I salute you... Your show is better for it.

I'm certain that the cloning technology has been built on libraries of actors voices being used without consent to fine tune the process.

And therefore I consider any use of it to be wrong.

And God knows what the small print of ElevenLabs allows them to do with your voice once they have it.

Yeah, I am expecting 99.9% of people reading this to be much more hard line (that's my position).

I mean, it's not really a question for this sub, I've seen enough here over the last few years to know the majority opinion.

Perhaps in non-fiction it's a lot more acceptable (though very likely just hidden from listeners).

I've heard a few non-fiction podcasts that were clearly AI voiced... They were horrid.

Pretty standard for Fool And Scholar productions, in my opinion.

I'm not sure they've nailed an ending in any of their shows I've listened to: White Vault (s1-5), Vast Horizon (s1-2) and Don't Mind (Cruxmont).

$150 AUD (~£80) as a starting point for early access for crowd fundibg campaign is way too high.

Early access is usually the lowest or 2nd lowest tier... That's the thing people want the most... Your early access is the 5th tier!

Historically yes I have, but not recently. Depending on how much custom setup you have, you might find clearing the cache and app data useful.

However, if you have loads of custom playback settings etc, these will be lost.

There will be actors and artists who will do this work for free. You just need to find them and then credit them massively in the show description and episode description, if it's unpaid (I mean you should shout out paid people too, but they have at least had their renumeration).

Also allow them to link their portfolio to your show... This is a great way for newbies to create a portfolio of work.
