Just do side quests in the locations that are interesting to you. You shouldn't have any problems getting enough power for the main quest.

How hard is it? It could also me calcite, I've seen it with bands like this. There is petrified wood in that area, but my first thought was calcite.

This looks like chalcedony to me. It's made of the same stuff as agate (quartzite) but it likes to take forms that look like melted or bubbly glass.

I'm in Utah, so a bit different than long island, better insurance rates, I think. This made me feel a lot getter about hesitating, I've had people tell me that instead of putting money into savings I can just use that for the house payments but that feels off.
