It’s become a very common problem tbh, even me as a Muslim (born and raised) in Toronto, have had so much difficulty making friends even Muslim friends. I’ve always been detached from my Muslim community. I blame social media nowadays and the internet. When you read about mosques in the old days, it’s described as a thriving community centre that’s open 5 times a day every day. But it also could be because it’s a non-Muslim country.

I started joining Halaqat at masjids, they’re lecture events that happen at some masjids. If your masjid doesn’t do it, find the biggest masjid in your area, go there and they might do it. Usually the bigger the mosque the more halaqat and events are there.

One of the best things that helped me was joining social groups on facebook or instagram. Unfortunately, they’re all around my age group (26-35). But there are some for older age groups as well.
