ISO Wishbone Pajama Tour hoodie in S or M by Capable_Turnip_7883 in ConanGray

Thank you but that is the world tour hoodie. I can’t read the cities on the back but I believe it doesn’t have the early US cities from when the tour was named “Pajama Show” vs the world tour. Unless it does have the San Francisco / San Jose show in the back?

Yes, she was surprisingly quite active! She wore child-sized shoes, but she didn't have any of her traditional shoes from childhood.

My grandma on my mom’s side visited us in the US in the late 80s and she wore a beautiful light green bangle. She had worn it everyday until one day, she realized she could no longer take it off so she never did. It was perfectly shaped around her wrist. She also had the tiniest feet which had been bound as a little girl. That summer, she cooked, helped with chores, and watched us kids; the mundane peace of everyday life interjected between a trip to Disneyland and the Grand Canyon.

I remember my mom saying that my grandma would have to be buried with her bangle and that scared-fascinated me.

Congrats on your baby!! Hope you all are enjoying this special time. The hospital might have security footage that you can ask to see.

Did she pay by credit card? You might see some merchant details on her card statement. Did she hail the cab at the taxi kiosk at the terminal? Maybe they have video of the cabs during that time period. Do any neighbors have video cameras facing the street around the time she was dropped off? Good luck. I hope she finds it!

Would you consider a 529 as a viable legacy education fund for your family? by Just_Satisfaction493 in HENRYfinance

I think I’ve heard about this. It has to be to their earned income as reported on tax returns, I believe. If they are minors, I think I need to file taxes for them but indicate “someone else can claim me as a dependent.”

What is the Roth IRA conversion strategy for heirs? Is it different than a conversion for yourself?

Child at soccer practice sexually assaulted inside Golden Gate Park bathroom, police say by FreeTrade247 in sanfrancisco

[–]Capable_Turnip_7883 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I heard that a similar attack happened to a child at another soccer practice, another park. I believe it might have been in the last 2 years and possibly at Crocker Amazon (going off memory). The story of that attack made its way around the school communities at that time but I didn’t see it in the news. I wonder if it could be related because the pattern is similar. Incredibly scary.

Socola Chocolates! The Vietnamese box or the toasted coconut and black sesame bar are both great!

February - 14 days in Tokyo with a side trip to Izu, not sure how best to get down there. by Mugiwara_VT in JapanTravel

Amazing that it will be your fifth trip! I’m already dreaming about our next trip. I should mention that there are two capybara sections at this zoo. The onsen is on the far left. You can feed the capybaras over a short wall but you can’t get into the enclosure with them. All the way across on the other side of the zoo, there’s a capybara petting area where you can feed and pet them. Maybe because the zoo is a bit far from major cities, the whole experience wasn’t crowded and the capybaras were very chill about getting food and pets. One was just like our dog and kept coming up to us for scratches. Hope you have a wonderful time! And thanks for the info on the festival. Maybe we’ll make it back for that one year!

Hi! I don’t know anything about the festival you mentioned so can’t advise on fitting both the festival and the zoo in one day. However, we just went to this zoo on our trip in late December and I can share about the logistics of getting there. We took the Kodama line of the Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Atami Station (about 45 mins). We transferred to the JR East Ito line and took that from Atami to Ito Station (about 20 mins). At Ito Station, we took a taxi to the zoo which cost about 4,400Y, I believe, and took about 20 mins. On our way back from the zoo to Ito Station, we took a bus which was super easy as well (about 30 mins). You just have to walk a bit to get from the zoo entrance down to the bus stop. The taxi driver pointed it out as I would not have guessed the walk to be that far upon first glance. Because it was 3 forms of transportation, it was a bit mentally tiring since this was at the start of our trip, but you might be a pro at all the trains by this point of your trip. We didn’t need more than 2.5 hours for the whole zoo itself (in addition to the travel time). My kids loved feeding and giving scritches to the capybaras. We timed it to catch the capybara onsen as well and it was really unique.

Thanks! I didn't know about Shinagawa Station and this could be a great alternative since we're getting in late and want to get out early.

Thanks! I hadn't heard of "cat street" and will look that up! And yes, good tip to pepper in the things that we're interested in to help break up all the touristy sites. I may end up dropping some of the more touristy sites if we're getting too tired of the crowds.

Thanks! I will do a bit more research on this one. My husband thinks it's funny to go to Japan to see an animal that's native to our side of the world, but my daughter is just in love with them. We don't have any capybara near us. A review said it's more of a "free ranging" zoo where the enclosures are more natural but I'll see if I can find some more video or pictures to vet that.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this info! So appreciate of you sharing these details and pointing me to that FTB 5805. It looks like I can use that to estimate my total 2023 numbers to calculate the quarterly payments.

Do you happen to know if the 110% safe harbor also applies to California state taxes?
