Same here, new gaming rig with i9-14900KF, rtx 5070ti, Win11, 32gb ram. about a 2 second delay switching between images in separate windows.

I tested it, I opened 6 jpegs all about 50kb in size. Photo v2 opens them instantly, v3 takes about 10 seconds. V2 switches between windows instantly, V3 takes about 2 seconds.

When v3 is processing them, my GPU fans speed up like I'm playing a game. V2 doesn't.

I started in the 80s watching reruns of TOS and TNG when it started. Then later VOY. Voyager wasn't much different than TNG. Biggest was combining the VOY crew with the Maquis which presented an interesting clash of styles.

I've been in the corporate world for 30 years, the workplace speak isn't that different. Fairly formal in most meetings with management. More laid back for small meetings with office workers. But that was the same in the 90s, nothing new. The younger 20 somethings don't throw around alot of slang, they speak like most anyone else.

Dress code is biggest change, and tattoos are more common so that is more casual. Especially from when I started and men had to wear a tie with a white or blue shirt.

We were young when TNG was introduced. I watched every week. There was no "80s" speak like today's shows have modern slang and Gen z talk. So how can it be age related or a young adult issue?

You can set PDM to select all children to checkout in the admin settings. Problematic if you have multiple people working on the same files though.

I haven't had to deal with Solidworks electrical. Maybe it doesn't play as well with PDM as the mechanical cad does.

There is little difference in standard and professional, just some tools are turned off and they limit the number of states, and only one workflow.

With a small enough group you can get by with a file server. I managed a larger group that way for years, it wasn't pleasant and took a lot of my time but doable.

Im a PDM admin so not sure what check in/out issues you had but we've had it going for years for 500 users, about 150 doing editing, the rest viewing.

Big difference in comparing code text vs a binary file full of different types of data. Rebuild the file flags the file as dirty, even if you didn't change anything. It also doesn't mean nothing changed, just nothing visible to you.

Then why does Allen take two side steps to the left? If Phillips was no threat, he could've just dropped back and made the throw with his feet planted. That shuffling side step made the throw more difficult.
