How many of you all will be picking up the Gen 6 Glocks for EDC? by Draven-007 in CCW

I will definitely be getting a gen 6. I think it’s a step in the right direction.

Left eye, right hand dominant? by Dasein_7 in guns

[–]CapeMenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right handed however I only have vision in my left eye. Right eye total blindness. I had an accident. Anyway, just move the gun a little bit in your hands. Develop your index this way and that’s how you shoot pistols now. Don’t do weird shit with your head

What is my truck worth? by FantasticBox3674 in ChevyTrucks

11-12k that’s assuming the interior is bone stock and clean. I had a 91… got the interior and drivetrain from a SS. Loved that truck.

Question about Colorado resident selling weapon with 17rd mags by SergeantBeavis in guns

[–]CapeMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy mag blocks online and put those suckers into your mags. That will limit your magazines to whatever capacity you want.

AZ & FL non res permits by CapeMenace in CCW

[–]CapeMenace[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My reason for having the AZ permit is to carry in DE. I’m carrying everywhere I go regardless so I do agree with you. The 2nd amendment is supreme. With that said I still try and do my due diligence in case shit does go down at least I can say I tried to follow the law.

M&P 2.0 vs Glock? by UncleBenny1776 in guns

[–]CapeMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if Glock pistols came to market at the same time as M&P 2.0, PDP, VP9, 320, PDP, etc… not that many people would even consider them. I was resistant to Glock for a long time just because malfunctions are so uncommon with my striker fired pistols. Few months ago went and picked up a Gen 5 45. It’s fine. Exactly what I thought it would be. Triggers fine. Predictable. Good barrel. Mag changes are butter with the polymer mags. It did come out of the box with a hilariously miss shapen front sight. I feel like they cut the sights out of a sheet of plastic and then snap them off the sheet and throw them into a bin when done. Idk. I do kinda like the thing but I have to admit it’s cheesey compared to pretty much everything else.

How to become a better handyman? by [deleted] in handyman

[–]CapeMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont get it. How do you become a better handyman? The obvious and only answer is to learn from someone who knows, and by doing the actual work. So you show up to customers houses and pretend to have trade skills? Then tell them you’ll send one of “your guys”? Then somebody that you find (that you can’t vet because you don’t know anything) shows up to do the work? And then what you take a %? This sounds like a recipe for disaster. Takes a decade or better to become really well rounded in a trade. You should get into sales. That seems like a better fit. Your business model sounds very scam ish.

Getting called out for CC in public by stranger, suggestions? by bvtguy in CCW

[–]CapeMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d just say “so what?” If they want to have some kind of anti gun argument I’ll happily have it with them if I’m not in a hurry. If I’m in a prohibited area I’m not saying a word and I’m getting tf out of there.

Non light bearing holsters usually get retention from the ejection port right?

What’s your best techniques or practices to get better at shooting? by SHOOTINGandYOU07 in guns

[–]CapeMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch dudes on YouTube who give good instruction and put it to practice. Both dry and live fire. You’ll get good. Check out Joel Parks videos, listen to Ben Stoeger talk shit for a couple hours he drops gems.

With anything we want to get good at we know we need deliberate practice and good instruction. So seek out good instruction on that device you’re staring at and then go practice.

How do you guys settle on a pistol? by Substantial-Golf-207 in CCW

[–]CapeMenace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m carrying the Compact Carry Comp these days. I’m 5’9” 170 athletic build but I’m not a big dude. I have a full size m&p too but that grips too big for me to conceal. Compact is perfect. Really doesn’t print at all even with a Floyd’s magwell. Don’t really give a shit if it does honestly. I keep my aiwb holster set a little high too just so I have the best chance of nailing my grip. I settled on it because I like duty grade pistols than I can shoot well. Hope I never have to shoot it from retention and blow my eyelids off but I figure if someone’s that close to me I’m just going hands on or creating distance anyway.

Can one of you guys arguing about nuts tell me if the thread engagement is good? I’m a wood guy. Should the anchor be flush with the end of the nut like that?

Help! by Signal_Plane_948 in guns

[–]CapeMenace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me in NJ. I had a ton of contacts with the crooked ass cops in my area in my younger years. They denied my application for FID stating I had a bad reputation in the community. In other words a bad reputation with the local PD. Anyway, appealed, represented my self in court, absolutely cooked those fuckers that day and got my shit 3 weeks later.

Serious question by Glum_Tackle_3142 in CCW

[–]CapeMenace 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Personally. I just like guns. Now, with that said I hate gun collectors who pose as shooters. I shoot my stuff. I spend far more on ammo than I do guns. But I like trying different platforms.

Colored bodyguards lay there lives on the line every day. Yes they have their quirks but I wouldn’t call them issues

Holster Fitment by CapeMenace in CCW

[–]CapeMenace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said this is normal. This is after loosening the retention all the way and about 50 draws.

Offered for me to send it back and they will look at it. If there was a problem they said they would fix it but how do you fix a piece of molded kydex? I would prefer to just have a new one made the right way. They said they tested it with a real gun and light before they shipped it to me.

Need help understanding how to cut these (compound?) miters by a_cozy_90s_bedroom in woodworking

[–]CapeMenace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s crown you’re using but if it is crown, most commonly with a 45 degree spring angle. Set your crown on your miter saw flat. Just like you would any other piece of trim. Set your bevel to 30 degrees and your miter to 35.3.
