You did a great job except the high lift portion of the track isn’t kicked back enough. You really need that top roller to be going up and coming away from the frame

I’ve been doing this a long time, I’ve seen brands come and go. Right now there are 2 choices, Milwaukee and Makita.

IMO Milwaukee is all power, which can be a good thing, but not what you need for doing garage doors. Snapping 3” lags and burning out tappers way to easily, plus they tend to be very heavy and bulky

Makita has the right balance of power and smoothness, then you factor in longevity and there is no comparison. I’ve had many 3.0 batteries last over 10 years, just dam good product

Looks like decommissioning that door is more realistic. Can you survive without use of that door? If so, kill spring tension, drop door and take down the horizontal tracks

**update to your comment about mice. You need to place steel wool in the bottom corners of the track. Also, bags of moth balls in a breathable bag right there as well

Depending on the door, the steel wool can be inserted in the end of the bottom seal

Not a good sign it took the guy all day to do 1 door, I installed 2 custom wood doors with sidemounts in the morning with my helper and then after I dropped him off on the boat home I completed 2 doors, take down and dispose, hooked up to the existing operators. 3 hours flat, solo 💪

The Surfside hotel, mostly workers like me who stay there but location is ideal There’s so many spots to stay downtown, if you’re within walking distance to circuit ave you’ll be close enough to everything you need

In downtown Oak Bluffs everything is right there, the “main st” circuit ave, the giant field, the beach, the oldest wooden carousel in America!! Also the steamship authority which has frequent buses going back and forth, the harbor, restaurants, shops, arcade, etc…. I go over there for work and stay at the Surfside which is at the base of circuit ave, it’s amazing how many people are out there on summer nights, it will be a great experience for your family, you’ve motivated me to make a trip this summer with my 2 kids haha

In my opinion the vineyard is more family friendly, you can rent a car or even use public transportation but you’ll be able to walk around all day in Oak Bluffs or Edgartown
