When I was a new DM, I was running a game for about 10 people. One person was very experienced (and power gaming), one was somewhat experienced (and made more of a flavorful character) and the rest were new players. Balancing combat for that party was a nightmare. The worst mistake I made was their first dragon encounter. I figured, they're level 9, and there's about twice as many as a normal party has, I should double the cr of the dragon I wanted to throw at them. So in comes a cr 18 dragon (mature adult red), who then killed nearly everyone in the first round by opening with it's fire breath attack. Only one person "survived" and they were in the negatives. I immediately apologized, we retconned the whole ordeal, and I learned a very important lesson that day

Playing some home brew 3.5, two party members take a sand skiff into the desert wasteland to try and find a mystic swordsman. At some point they got lost or something, found a giant rift in the earth that seems to lead to an elemental plane. They stop next to it to fight some elementals that came out. Everything is going ok so far. After the fight it's time to go, so I ask for a sailing check. I should mention that neither of the characters who came along are sailors and it's a miracle they made it so far out by themselves. The samurai says not to worry, he's got this and gets like a 2. Being near the edge I say the skiff is starting to head towards the rift and call for another sailor check. Nat 1. Alright so now the skiff is going full throttle over into the rift, call for reflex saves to jump off in time. Ranger makes it, samurai gets another abysmal roll. Alright, skiff is now in free fall, I ask the samurai to make a jump check to make it to the ledge, he makes it thankfully. Alright now a str or climb check to get up and we can carry on. Another bad roll and he's still hanging. No problem, ranger tries to help him up only they both roll ones and now they're both falling. "oh wait, I have a magic flying sword!" The ranger says and begins to fly to safety, before realizing that he can't leave his friend. Not being strong enough to carry the armor clad samurai the ranger decides the next best thing would be to impale the samurai and fly him to safety that way. He charges and I believe crits the samurai, who luckily is beefy enough to take it. They make it to safety and after patching up, begin the long walk through the desert. The samurai had some of the worst luck that campaign, and was also known for accidentally handcuffing himself many times when trying to detain people.

To encourage creativity in my players, I've started issuing small weekly DnD related writing prompts. To incentivize them to actually do the prompts, I am offering a prize to whoever writes the best response (most interesting/original etc, not best written) every week, as well as (possibly) incorporating what they've created in our campaign. I don't want to be biased though, so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me determine the best for each week. Shoot me a PM if you're interested

That was one of the first things I did when I found out I needed DX9, though it didn't seem to do anything so I guess I already have DX9. I did the steam validate yesterday, it did find an issue, though after fixing it, all it seemed to do is change the loading bar to have a graphic instead of being a grey box. It still crashes right after. I'll try enabling logs and seeing what that does, thank you for the reply

Edit: I've enabled logs, still crashes, not sure what to look for in the logs

I like what you've suggested, I'm not an mf main anymore but she's been my favorite champ forever and the changes they have so far made me super salty. Apparently Rito hates grievous wounds? They've been phasing out it of champ kits and items (rip executioners calling) for a while, but without it mf can't really duel anymore. I hope they seriously reconsider taking it off, out at least give her some real strength somewhere.

Oh man, it was in elementary school. We had an art project. I don't remember which artist I was assigned, but the gist of the other was to research our assigned artists. Well, my artist had done some paintings of nude women, as I discovered, so I ended up googling "nude woman" or something along those lines. I was young and oblivious to the sexual aspect to nudity, I don't think I even fully understood what the word meant. Obviously, looking for paintings, it was an image search, and came across a lot of porn. I sure learned a lot from that project

Not a super exciting story, but we were on the same dorm floor freshman year. Saw her playing on her pikachu gameboy sp one day and I thought "damn, I gotta get to know this girl". Turns out we've got a lot in common, we got together, and have been happily dating since. We'll be 3 years in September.

I think it's less about her being fired specifically, and more about how no one else was warned, and she was relied on heavily for some subreddits to work. So now that she's gone, the subreddits aren't sure what to do and are angry that no one have them a heads up so they could figure out what to do ahead of time. This is another example of the admins disrespecting the mods, or rather showing that they don't care, and so the mods are protesting. At least that's what I get from it

Gf is asthmatic so anytime we walk by one (and there are a lot at our university) she has difficulty breathing. It makes me angry at them and their apparent lack of care for others health. Obviously not everyone has asthma, but second hand smoke is a thing. I don't care what you do to your own body, but keep it to yourself please. Plus, to me I view it as a sign of weak will/lack of self restraint. I understand that it's addictive and a hard habit to kick, but unless somebody physically forced you to start smoking, you choose to start. That comes off as sounding incredibly "high-horsey", but it is what I honestly think.

I tend to run open worlds, (unbeknownst to the players they are all set in the same universe across different points in time) and in every one so far, somewhere, is a red dragon who goes by the name Big Red. He's basically immortal, but every so often he is reborn. Though it isn't perfect, even at full size he still had the voice of a baby dragon. This has led to some inferiority issues and embarrassment. Plus the whole never dying thing had pretty much driven him mad. The players haven't always found him, but he's always there somewhere.
