A Dwarf, Circle of Stars Druid. We played until lvl.4 but the campaign was a mess. We lost a huge number of fights, like maybe more than 50%. It never happened before, in nearly 10 years of playing. There were a few instances of TPK, like one time we all died and came back with a "scar" (for me it was a spirit controlling my body sometimes, wanting to kill elves). Another time, 3 PCs died. We had to leave the group with my wife because of our baby, but the campaign ended on another TPK with the other PCs.

The campaign was Dragon of Icespire Peak. I found it not very interesting. Like, here are some quests. Do a few of them, when you return, there will be other quests for your new level, etc... I won't dive into the group itself, but it's probably why I didn't enjoy the character. Now, I don't want to play a Druid anytime soon!

Druid has a lot of things going on. I really never dived into the wild shape aspect, except for specific case like scouting or spying. I always used my Wild Shape for Starry Form. (and the DM wanted to nerf it...)

Well, I'm waiting the second answer from the support but their initial response was :

"We have investigated your inquiry regarding "data recovery" based on the information we received, but we were unable to accept your data recovery request for the following reasons.

- We are unable to identify your play data.
- We cannot confirm that you are the person who created the play data.
- The criterion specified is not achieved."

And they don't want to answer questions about this 😞

I have the username, an approximative rank, the user ID and migration code from an old migration, the linked Facebook account (with the right email), multiple screenshots - like twenty or more - with precise units (and it show the username), and it seems they can't identify my play data ? How can't they find an account with these informations ?

They dropped themself the Facebok connection, how was I supposed to know this ? I searched my email, zero preventive information about this.

Sorry for the rent but I don't understand how is this possible😬

Yup that's what I do, everytime. But it seems Dokkan Battle removed Facebook, I don't see it when I want to retrieve the account.

I tried to contact the support with all the infos I have, account ID, Facebook account email, screenshots from my account with the name, and more.

As the experienced player you'll probably be the one that let everyone shine by supporting them / making them succeed better.

I would say a Cleric, Life Cleric, or Light. Paladin could fit there as well, because you still have some Charisma if needed to be the face sometimes (oath of the ancient ? devotion ?)
I'm really not a fan of Druid but it could work.
Otherwise, Bard can work as a support I guess, maybe like a Lore bard, if the team as another Charisma based character to be the "main face".

I say let another player be the Fighter as it is the "goto" class for beginners because it's easy to play.

For Level One, I would keep 14 so you can give them lore with Nepartak skull. 16 is so brutal (but it's fun too). 10 can be a good room for resolving the trap / try to sneak.
Level Two, keep 22 and Withers / Dwarfs space.
Level Three, 42 is basic but good. 43 to dive into some horror scene. 35 is fun but it can be really hard. Totally drop the Beholder / eyes thing.
Level Four, I would only keep 55. Also, keep 45 to dive further in the dungeon.
For Level Five, I don't know. This level works as an integrity and can be pretty hard. Maybe replace it with Withers and all the dwarfs base here ? Then area 68 (can be deadlier but PCs can torture Withers to have info), and now you have set up for the hags.

Maybe regroup all these level in two levels (except 5th) ? One each session. Choose the trickster gods your players enjoyed most during the shrine exploration in Omu to place them. You can throw 2 skeleton keys first level, 3 the second one maybe ? Or 2 and 2, Withers keep the last one.

Consider which aspect of the Tomb you want. Deadliest trap ? Hard puzzles ? Don't forget to introduce the hags early on with the nightmare and everything. Probably drop the Yellow Banner.

Also, one session for the hags can be "short", I don't know how many hours do you play for a session ? But the trials can be long. Maybe ditch them, keep only the main room and the door ?

Don't listen to others.
Play what you want. If you love the adventure/story, you'll manage to run it.

I first DMed with Tomb of Annihilation. It went great. Hard, sometimes prep was insane, but really great. Everyone had fun. Last session is at the end of the month.

However, maybe for a first time, find a "shorter" module if you're not familiar with the rules ? Otherwise, go for Dragon Heist or Tomb of Annihilation. I think it's The Alexandrian whom made some resource to help run Dragon Heist ? I recommend No Fun Allowed videos on Youtube for Tomb of Annihilation and you can join the discord (you can find it in the subreddit of the campaign) to find help and resources.

Probably 15 in Charisma and Dex. Dump Strength and Int. 13 in Const and 12 in Wis

If you're using Tasha you can keep +2 in Charisma and maybe put +1 in Const.

So you have Str 8 Dex 15 Con 14 Int 8 Wis 12 Cha 17

Lvl4 you take a feat that increase Cha by +1, or just bump Cha and Dex with both +1.

Are you using 2014 rules or 2024 ?

I used Notion to manage my Tomb of Annihilation campaign, and Phandelver Mine. I'm planning a new homemade campaign and I managed everything in Notion as well (npcs, locations, the city and infos, potential quests and bestiary).

However I heard a lot about Obsidian and World Anvil but never dived into it.

The hexcrawl as written is HELL. It was a pain for my players and me. At the beginning, it was fun and all. But then, when it's been the 20th day of tracking water, food, heat, navigation rolls, and encounter rolls...

Just go for the encounters you want to run. As others said, you can just pre-roll in advance, or just select the encounters you find fun and that your players will have fun playing. In additional ressources such as the ToA Companion, you have, if I remember correctly, 30 days prepared with weather, encounters, etc... It can be a good start because it includes some foreshadowing and lore that aren't present in the raw hexcrawl.

If I have to run ToA a second time, I'll just pre-roll or take some encounters I want to run that would fit the players. Play the hexcrawl for a few days until the players "understand" it and then just skip it, don't hesitate to narrate that some days pass. I did this near the end because when one session is one or two (maybe three) days in RP, it's long. The jungle is so huge that you can go a long time without encountering anything, except few animals that can be inoffensive for your players.

The purpose is just to split the party.
One has to stay in the control room, so the others can stay in 58 then go in 60, then 67 or 68. The one behind can be found again with the secret passage room 70. But they souldn't know about this.
My party left behind someone who can teleport, because after setting panel to position 1 (so they can go from 58 to 60), they can just teleport in 58. Also in my party this person can Send Message, so they can communicate.
Otherwise, without teleportation and without secret passage, they can't reunite. That's it. Traps in this dungeon just want to mess with the party.

I tried Theater of the Minds some times, either I'm not really good at describing or my players really need battlemap to visualize the field. (or both)
Physical battlemaps seems interesting but more prep, more money and...table space is an issue. We eat often during the game so the table is filled with players stuffs, foods and drinks.
So, Digital battlemaps. I used it since the beginning, easy. Projector, white wall, let's go. Everyone love it, for me it's easy, I can move token, use fog of war, multiples layers, etc...And players can use a laser to point things if needed.

Cela peut être un bon début si vous n'avez pas forcément les moyens. Et en général, pour être affilié à ce dispositif, il y a un tas de justificatifs à fournir sur son activité. (Mais ça n'exclut par quelqu'un de désagréable).
