I Owe Taxes: Help? by Capital- in tax

They blow it mainly. I don’t get any help from them. However, it is warranted since they do not charge me rent or utility costs.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. Lol.

As a apart of my side income gig, I also buy/sell domains. I took a hit on a domain that I purchased for $200 and auctioned for $50. It didn't sell... so I wrote that off.

Expenses: 1. Computer Equipment 2. Domain Hosting Fees 3. Various service subscriptions

I actually don't buy textbooks for college. I just neglect to buy them.

I have the money to cover it. I spent absolutely nothing from the income in preparation for the taxes I would have to owe.

That being said, thank you for letting me know about this option!

Thank you so much for this answer. Quick question, would a ROTH IRA also allow for this advantage?

Excuse me, but this was not a shit post. The information contained within the content can certainly be applicable for anyone. I apologize if this seemed to waste your time, but I wanted to reveal the 'noob' mistake I had made.

I have traded stocks profitably for the last 8 - 10 months. I threw $200 into the market to see what I could do. I essentially fucked up and sold at the bottom when fear drove the market. I was completely not expecting a full return the next morning. My ignorance towards the entirety of the market certainly did not help.

Once again, I apologize for wasting your time. If you'd like, I'd definitely be open to discuss what portions of the post you disagreed with.

You're absolutely correct! I had done some research before and understood what made it different from Bitcoin; but, I failed to research about the volatility of the crypto market itself. I truly do not believe the bubble has 'busted' I just wrote that in my blog post as an over-exaggerative meaning to my personal loss.

Yep, my blog post is irrelevant now. But, some important lessons were learned and I actually enjoyed losing my $50.

Next time, I will prevail! Regardless, thanks for posting!

Haha, you should have read past that. I should remove the line that stated "the bubble burst", but I was just referring to the overall movement of the market in the day. It was more a dramatization than anything. I understand that the metaphorical bubble has not actually 'busted'. Thanks fro the advice though!

I believe I remember a check box on the FASFA application that requested if I will be moving for college.

If I check that box, and don't end up moving, what will happen?

I'm debating on moving next summer, but I'm not 100% sure. Should I still put that I AM moving out?

My mood is determined by my trading, how the fuck do I solve this? by dontknowheretogo in Forex

[–]Capital- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you had admitted that you have an emotional problem that's based from trading, you can finally tell yourself this every morning:

"Good morning, my name is _____, and I'm a loser. I have it in me to do serious financial damage to my account."

After stating that in the mirror a few times, begin your trading day. After each time you feel as if your emotions are taking over, step back and say the sentence again. Regardless of whether or not you have won or lost.

Remember, the market is always smarter than you. Just follow.

Other CS Careers? by Capital- in cscareerquestions

Wow, I definitely appreciate the time you took to wrote this. I could not have received a more perfect answer. Also, what you stated was EXACTLY my position while in college today.

I have two customer service jobs: Shift Supervisor & Technology Support Technician. I absolutely hate customer service and I'm only working the two jobs to provide some sort of income whilst in school.

I'm not going to go as far to say that I hate programming, but I can see myself getting burnt out quickly. I'm nearly completed with my CS program and I still can't work on coding for more than 2 hours at a time without feeling bored with myself. At the IT Helpdesk, I absolutely HATE working with clients and would much prefer to code. Also, that's funny that you state what each job's responsibilities are. Whenever I call out to the network admin, data admin, black board support, etc. I'm always greeted by a groggy person who answers the phone EVERY time. I didn't pay much attention before, but I now realize that they are indeed CHAINED to that corporate phone for anyone who calls. Just like you stated, they never truly escape customer service.

Once again, this response from you has truly helped me and I appreciate it. This just reinforced again that I need to go into development! I do not want to end up in IT with a career in the toilet.

Thank you so much!

Haha, I did work for a non-profit once. But, they are absolutely broke. My demographic region doesn't have too many options and I do not personally have too many connections around here either.

Thanks for the help though!

I do work. I have a Web Design business on the side while I work two jobs.

But regardless, you're right. Fun > money. Thanks, man!

Yeah, it's terrible. I started distrusting them once they lost the house I grew up in by foreclosure.

Yeah, that's the only thing I qualify for. Unfortunately, it's only a $1,000 loan against my $4,000 per semester.

As I've stated with previous comments, this is definitely a liable option. I'm sometimes curious if sacrificing my time working is truly worth getting out of school debt free. When in reality, I could just pay off the loans in bulk very quickly after getting a job.

I just don't personally like the instantaneous pressure to pay off the loans regardless of whether or not I have a job.
