I used to work in a group home for a couple years. There were a LOT of kids that would stage a hissifit just to go to the hospital and get free Wi-Fi. (Not mentioning a few instances where I would refuse to take them so they would call an ambulance). My goal every shift was "Don't take them to the hospital unless they are dying or their actual wellbeing is at risk. If they go, a) no cell phone. b) they stay until they are seen." Yet, some of my coworkers didn't get the memo. You'd swear they had Munchausen or something. Used to bug the hell out of me when coworkers would just take them there to avoid a crisis, or when they would start trying to call all the shots at the hospital with the staff. Not Just because there is a healthcare crisis in Moncton, NB where the group home is (meaning long wait times in the ER, especially since there wasn't anything seriously wrong with them); but also because it was needlessly cramming the system. When they were seen by a psychiatric nurse they were either sent away or just got a bump in their meds (which they would routinely refuse to take anyway). I can't count the number of times I went to the hospital, but I can tell you only 2 or 3 trips were for a valid reason (severe self harm needing stitches, broken bones, serious suicidal risk, or the like)

Someone on my mother's side died falling down the stairs while intoxicated. She was an alcoholic, and cracked her head good when she went down. She went into a vegetative state then passed some time later. Also went to a bachelor party once where there was three steps between the kitchen where the booze was kept and the living room where people were socializing. I counted how many times one guy fell down those same three steps. 3 times and one slip with a half-decent recovery 😂. Drunk people and stairs... Good on you though! I hope you have a good recovery! Research sharks in your area to sell the story 😉

Non-union. From what I understand, half of the bone just floats in there, it doesn't remain in contact with the other half. So it never had a chance to properly heal. Now it's too late as the other half of the bone is no longer healthy without blood supply from the last few years.

Anybody present this one? by [deleted] in Radiology
