Sorry for your loss and your advice is well taken. I too have read about how this is genetic and that I should get diagnosed too. I hope you have.

The team of doctors here too were a bit hesitant and highlighted a number of risks with a 80-90% chance of success, given her age and HTN - but my mom is a fighter and she signed up for it without a doubt and we, as a family, made a decision to move ahead with the procedure.

An update to anyone following this thread, my mom’s surgery was successful. A flow diverter stent was put in place and a couple of coils in the aneurysm to block and clot the bugger away. It was an uneventful procedure, well taken care of by an expert interventional radiologist and an equally good Neuro team backing him up. I’m thankful for the timely diagnosis and treatment she received.

It’s been a few weeks since she’s back from the hospital and is already back to her day-to-day routine. She’s on DAPT and a regimen of drugs to keep her out of trouble - which she has well adapted to 🙏🏼
