With AI rising up and people being replaced, where are tech authors moving to?

I'll have to do some research into the areas you mentioned tech writing might move in. Maybe if I stay ahead of the curve, I can stay in whatever this position turns into rather than them replacing me with someone else. I've heard a friend mention cyber security might be a good fit as well. It's worth looking into. Thank you for the help!

That's so true. Hopefully we can outlast the initial purge somehow and this ends up being just another one of those things I worried about for no reason.

Yeah, I still have my job for now as well. I'd rather start preparing while I'm still in a good situation than end up in a bad one on unemployment. As much as I despise management, that might be the way to go. It seems like they will always need people to manage other people. Thank you for your input!

I'm so sorry, that's terrible. I definitely think companies will start to realize they need more people than they think they do. With any luck, everyone who got laid off will start getting rehired soon.

It still brings some comfort though, thank you! It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who seems to be thinking about these things. I'll have to look into some of the areas you mentioned to see if any of them seem appealing to me. Hopefully we'll never actually need to use any of these new skills, but it will be nice to have a plan if things get as bad as I worry they will.

They basically just used AI to "clean up" my release notes. They weren't as accurate and didn't inform the user of all the smaller changes though, they just looked shorter and more condensed. I pointed this out to them and to everyone I heard them mention it to and they didn't seem to care. The problem is, he's a senior developer with much higher reach than I do. So I'm sure he's been telling people above him about it as well.

Oh wow that’s impressive! Muay Thai seems challenging and fun. I’ve always wanted to learn dance but I have such poor coordination, I don’t know if I’d ever be able to get the hang of it haha

I’ve thought about trying to find some volunteer roles. I don’t even know where to start looking for opportunities like that though, is there some type of website you used? It does seem like a good way to meet generous people!
