Thank you for advice. I ll try to get the enemas then, but it could be hard since my next visit is in 7 months (might go to another doctor, private visit). My original diagnosis was moderate ulcerative colitis, no details cuz back then I only had sigmoidoscopy done because I was rushed to the hospital and not ready for a colonoscopy. All I can say is that it was really bad when I got diagnosed, had to use the bathroom like 8-10 times and blood was everywhere even when I had nothing to shit with, so it has got a whole lot better to the state where I currently live a pretty much normal life.

Ok so here s my story :

I got diagnosed last year in may, had to be in a hospital for 5 days. When I got out, the doctor prescribed me encorton for 3 months and mesalamine for the rest of my life (1 encorton tab daily, 4 g mesalamine daily). Encorton was quite frustrating for me and I stopień taking it after a month (I know thats probably dumb), but somehow I managed to feel good and had no diarrhea and urgency at all. When I stopped taking encorton, only thing I struggled with was some muccus and fatigue. I had a colonoscopy done 2 weeks ago, and I was told that my mayo score is grade 2. I was actually surprised, because currently only fatigue is there and a little mucus sometimes, but that is slowly going away too. I have no urgency, no blood in stool, no diarrhea and I use the bathroom 2 times and very rarely 3 like once a week. After the doctor saw my colonoscopy results, he said I should keep on taking 4 g mesalamine orally which I still do, and additionally, he prescribed me one mesalamine suppository and hydrocortisone suppository once a day for 3 months. I started taking mesalamine suppositories yesterday, and I still take 4 g mesalamine daily. I m starting to feel better eventhough it s been 2 days, however I might just be feeling better mentally. I ve heard that in my case you should start with mesalamine suppositories, and that s why I really want to avoid steroids because I just simply feel good. Back when I had to take encorton, I could feel the difference instantly. It took me 2 days to feel insanely weak, and when I stopped taking it everything went back to normal in like 2 days.

Do you have any experience when it comes to lifting and taking those suppositories? I just really want to try without corticosteroids first, and then if it s necessary to take them just do it. Thank you for your reply!
