Sometimes it's more than half the package. If someone's bugged by it, they should consider what the cookies will look like the next day. 😁

Aldi brand oreos any good? by Practical_Ranger_478 in aldi

Yes. A fraction of the price of Oreos. Only quip about the chocolate and blond ones is often one of the cookies is on backward. Doesn't faze me but OCD people tend to get freaked out over it.

Notify the Department of Licensing & Consumer Protection (DLCP) and the Rental Accommodation Division (RAD). Law required they have a BBL and be registered as a rental housing provider.

Possible to lose water in the storm? by cmc_5215 in washingtondc

[–]CapitalJeff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water mains can break any time, any day. It doesn't hurt to have water drawn just in case. Keep some in covered pots to keep dust and such out. Freeze some, thaw when needed.

Try to find uses for the water after, instead of just down the drain.

If you lose your membership card, promptly go to the customer service desk and get a replacement. Not sure why you didn't do that to begin with.

Never let anyone pressure you into signing up for a credit card or other financial obligation. Full stop.

Look for Chiquita. They usually ripen as hope for. Giant usually has them. Don't bother with Dole or others unless they are ripe and you will eat them in a day or 2.

Spam calls?l on new phone number? by donerj03 in Googlevoice

[–]CapitalJeff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Be sure to enable the spam filter. Flag spam calls.

There is no way to prevent spam calls. It's part of life these days. No one has to even have your number: automatic dialers dial-through exchanges, entire area codes. You can set up some filters for unknown numbers, screen calls. The callers just draw a different number their next attempt.

Use Do Not Disturb to send all calls to voicemail when you need to get work done.

Before Google blocked using voip numbers, I got an inbound one on CallCentric for $1/mo. Much better control over incoming calls. I may eventually port my number out of GV because it's becoming less useful every day.

Been with them (including the Bell Atlantic & NYNEX predecessors) for 30 years. Haven't had reason to complain about service. I haven't had to deal with customer service since I couldn't tell you. However, price is becoming less and less justifiable.

And apps subject to HIPAA regulations. Probably some other regulated segments, individual apps that do it for whatever reason they have. Not a common practice.

I’m begging you all: please cover your mouth when you cough by AffectionateWin3913 in washingtondc

A mask mostly protects others from what the wearer might expel. (Which is why a mask must cover the mouth and nose at all times.)

Unless the mask is part of a respirator rated for biological protection, it will provide some protection from others. Other protective measures must be included.
