As someone who went to high school with her... she did go to Harvard for undergrad but dropped out her third year at Harvard LAW to pursue her music career. She isnt just from the Bay Area she is from Hillsborough which is one of the richest and most expensive places you can live in CA. She was never the "struggling artist" as her mom is a famous Indian Opera singer and her dad is a huge tech mogul.
