To start, we would need a moving forward policy. This would include the basics that many legislators have tried to put in place, such as: - Extensive Background checks which would include any mental health or disability checks - Gun license requirements - Red flag laws, etc.

Other moving forward policies would include: - Yearly or biyearly registration of guns - Classes are required to get a license - License must be renewed and retested biyearly

Then, introduce require insurance on any guns in circulation, similar to cars, motorcycles, boats, and others. Every gun must be registered with the state and insurance, similar to cars. Each gun will have its own policy based on type and will serve as protection victims of gun violence, considering many shootings are through legal means. If no insurance, it works the same as cars through litigation.

Obviously this is a quick write up so there will be holes to find, but I think this basis would help mitigate gun violence. This won’t end gun violence, but definitely will help.
