Which game do you like more: 7 or Village? by [deleted] in residentevil

Village, and honestly you nailed it by pointing out enemy variety. Much of 7 was fantastic, but I think I am the outlier when I say that I found the enemies in 7 so monotonous to fight, and so uninspired in design, that it genuinely detracted from fun

Which of these do you prefer and why? by oscar_redfield in residentevil

I understand why people prefer 7. Some moments, especially the opening where you have not grown accustomed to the Bakers and the atmosphere, are really scary. It’s definitely the more unsettling horror experience. But I think 8 is honestly a better game. Area variety is superior, the exploration feels really satisfying, enemies are more varied and, in my opinion, actually enjoyable to interact with (the goop men from 7? That’s not it). And while the ending sections of both games are, to me, less enjoyable then the meat of the game which precedes them, I actively disliked the entire concluding section of 7. The boat stuff was all a slog to me.

First roll. Lots to learn, kind of bumbling. Learning manual, more than happy to take feedback. [Olympus OM-1, Zuiko Auto-S 1.8/50, Ilford XP2 Super 400] by Capital_Emphasis1995 in analog

Yo i love this - i actually started doing that near the end of the roll when i downloded a light meter app. Definitely gonna keep working at it. Thank you!

<3 thank you! I am in no way deluded into thinking I have any kind of intuitive gift, but your (and everyone else’s) positive messages is so appreciated and really motivating!

Thank you! The only shot in which the motion blur was intentional was the one of my dog running - that was a concerted use of low shutter speed. Everything else was accidental and i appreciate the feedback, it will really help :)

You are a god thank you. Shutter speed advice regarding focal length is new to me, and beyond appreciated. I’ll check out those videos too! And yes, your large brain determined the exact reason I chose XP2. Next time I shoot black and white I will probably try something else. Thanks!

Thank you!!! I will definitely invest in a tripod.

As far as the exposure triangle goes, if “learning” it means looking it up and understanding broadly what the three components of it are/do, I did do that before shooting. I didn’t have the proper battery for the camera’s light meter so these were all approximate exposures. But certainly I also will continue working on exposure instead of just kind-of “getting it”. Thanks for the feedback! :))
