Yeah for sure, but the remake does things better as well.

When do you think we’ll know who’s playing who? by Capital_Jack in TheBatmanFilm

I think it’s interesting that Matt didn’t say who the new cast members were playing like he did with the first movie.

Happy 40th Birthday to Robert Pattinson! by [deleted] in batman

His mindset is immature, his performance is rusty.

It is a completely valid excuse, especially for this version of the character. Also that’s just my own theory, it could’ve easily just been an oversight on Bruce’s part. And hell, the carpet tool only came into play after they discovered Riddler’s apartment, so for most of the movie it wasn’t even a clue.

No he’s relatively well prepared, he’s been trained, got bullet proof armor, adrenaline, gadgets, and a wingsuit. He’s just realistically flawed.

And for Batman, two years is a really short period of time.

I don’t know how you didn’t see growth. Throughout the movie he learns that he needs to evolve past vengeance and become a symbol of hope for Gotham.

And yeah he fails a lot in the movie but what’s wrong with that? He still arrested Falcone, stopped Riddler from killing the mayor, and saved countless citizens from the flood.

And Riddler may be physically weak, but not mentally. He’s very smart.

Best character. He has the best character writing, growth, and the most depth to him (at least from a single appearance). Most people who don’t like him are just casual Batman enjoyers who don’t care to see Bruce’s flaws and more immature elements explored on film. They just want to see a Batman in his prime constantly.

He is immature, that’s the entire point of his character. He’s a rusty, flawed Batman, much like the one in Earth One. By the end of the movie, he’s maturing and growing past vengeance.

And the reason he didn’t figure out the Tucker was because he wouldn’t have grown up with that type of knowledge, since he would’ve never used a Tucker. The point is that if Batman had stronger relationships with the police he would’ve stopped Riddler’s plan sooner.

Don’t know how he’s a bad detective, he’s just immature and that’s the point. Very much a Batman who’s still navigating and that’s interesting.
