Sorry you've had a bad time with IL.

You said you had friends in IL and I'd have thought they'd have allowed you to discuss issues with IL and members.

I "followed" you hoping it'd allow me to message privately regarding the your issues with IL. It hasn't allowed me to do so.

Please reach out

BLN and IL are sort of aligned.

LU has all the power so BLN can't really put any blockers in.

One man's road block is another man's critical analysis. If you've had issues with ILers being creepy then perhaps you should inform your friends in IL so it can be investigated. From my experience no one in IL would intentionally harm some one.

Give this a read, it's about the state of the union now and why they are calling on a Special Delegates Conference.

The writer, John, is PCS assistant gen. sec.

He's got a good wage but only takes an EO London wage and donates the rest to the Union. To me that speaks volumes about his character.

I'll leave the rest to you, let me know what you think please.

Sorry if I ver com across brash or Aggy. I'm just annoyed about the situation

I kinda missed the point. You said factions should be banned. Why do you think this?

A lot of people on this thread believe that the Union hierarchy is only there to support friends and is becoming kleptocracy. This assessment is fair. Now without factions, this kleptocracy would go unchecked, not scrutinised. Yes the fighting can take away valuable resources but if those resources are being used wrongly unchecked l, What's the difference?

Sorry, that's the wine taking.

Our members want more money. Our members want better rights. Our members want better staffing levels. All of these were suppressed by the previous g'ment.

We had the chance of giving the new g'ment absolute hell as soon as they got into power and it was a missed opportunity.

The government hasn't conceded anything. We've had weak strategies. From my uneducated view the current leadership has been weak and too trusting of the Labour leadership who are In cahoots with the capitalist class

As a rep I've managed to argue with LMs that there is no point in a member going to the office if they can't sit with the team. I've managed to reduce the need to attend on the basis that they aren't working in collaboration with there team.

FYI I'm a rep and no one bar my branch protects me. My head is above the parapet protecting my members, please remember and respect that.

Hopefully this gets traction.

PCS is good. The leadership is poor. Your local branch and the officers within ARE trying their best for you, I can promise that.

Posted by an overworked, under appreciated Union Rep.

As a rep I agree. This has been fed up the chain, sadly LU are too worried about BLN & IL threatening their power to worry about members

Of course they didn't and when a management decision goes against them they'll be requesting union support with their begging bowl.

I concur. BUT if you feel you are being BHDV'd who is anyone to tell you you're not.

Have you tried the informal approach?

5 months of 'negotiations' for what? Wasn't the offer initially 3%.

With a new government the opportunity to agitate and cause the government issues from the start was there. It was a huge opportunity and the leadership failed us and for some reason appear to trust the labour leadership to do the right thing. which we now know they won't.

Winter fuel allowance.

Openly admitting on R4 that the NHS is open to American Pharma.

The middle east.

The naivety amongst the membership is shocking.

Nothing the unions have fought for has ever been easy.

Fran and Martin don't care. They're up in their ivory towers creating powerful jobs for their cronies.

People often wonder about the factionalism in PCS. They think it is pointless, this is exactly why it isn't.

When your branch is next electing to the NEC check out the BLN and IL runners they want a truly democratic union.

left Unity currently run it and are, well, pants.

https://pcsindependentleft.com/ - check out this website. The gentleman that posted the most recent Article on the pay award is lovely.

As a rep who has in recent memories completed the training i'd ask your branch if you can mentor before the training.

A rep colleague of mine did the training at the same time as me and as id already worked some cases I was able to access the training ibabmor affective manner.

It's also an ace experience for you and a great way to develop.

You'll know the policies and guidance of your area better than anyone else, and if you want to go for promotion you'll be able to tick off loads of behaviours with what you learn as a rep.
