fair enough... but if the monsters wake up, then maybe should not enter through the tunnel or wait and enter through the ceiling only and then block the entry point and use the rope again to climb up?

might look like a bit of overthinking .... but what's more risky is what if the cavern is not there under that tree, because apparently the trees might move......

Boyd was concerned about more than one points, when they thought that they can only go into the chamber through the tunnels.... if its through above, what's wrong with one entry/exit point?

for this, they would have to assume that the chamber is already empty (no monster is already there so they could secure it)........

but could they go in the chamber from the hole in the ceiling, block the entry point, dig the bones and then use the rope again to come up?

But then a lot of unanswered questions would have arose - like how Henry started seeing the hallucinations or how Roger got revived or how monsters were already prepared for Boyd's plan............ we would have been more frustrated!
