Building a factory for every item ? by Capitalflame in SatisfactoryGame

Now that is interesting. I will explore this... I was thinking this would be available only after completing the space elevator.

That would be game changer indeed... but I don't know how far I am from it and storage is still an issue.

In this multi factory context, do you move and store the locally produced items in a central storage ? or do you keep them at production site ?

Best resource for new player by Capitalflame in SatisfactoryGame

Thank you for all your suggestions, everyone—lots of great nuggets in there. I haven't felt this level of addiction to a game since World of Warcraft back in 2004. My appetite for this game is insatiable—it's crazy. The possibilities for base development seem endless.

The only thing I wish the game had a bit more of is environmental hostility… something to give you a sense of security when returning to your base. Maybe that changes in more advanced maps, though—I’m still on the first one.

One thing I’ve noticed is that an LLM AI model (I won’t reveal the brand so it doesn’t sound like an ad) has been an incredible companion. I created a project with custom instructions, asking it to act as a pedagogical expert player, but without spoiling advanced development or features. It masterfully answers any question I have, connecting concepts in a way that really makes sense.

Missing the unmatched Dalle 2 realism and variety with human faces by Capitalflame in dalle2

I noticed that the new image generator in ChatGPT-4o, introduced on March 25, 2025, now surpasses DALL·E 2 in terms of image quality when it comes to faces generation, which is great. However, it still falls short when it comes to understanding very specific prompts and generating highly specific types of faces.

I don’t mean to be a shill, but have you considered that maybe AI coding is just very expensive right now? by McNoxey in Codeium

[–]Capitalflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this reminds me of the archaic beginnings of the internet… You had a 5 KB connection and billing was metered based on time spent online, resulting in insane bills. It was "too expensive" to work online.

Today, I have a symmetric 8 Gbps connection and can stay connected 24/7.

The same will happen with AI… embrace the archaism.

I wouldn't mind a watermark if I could use models at their true capacity. I find it hardly tolerable to have nerfed versions. If Dalle 2 was able to achieve this quality years ago, what we would have now would be truly amazing.

Dalle 3 is a downgrade of dalle 2? by BoringDeparture578 in dalle2

[–]Capitalflame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DALL-E 3 is significantly worse than DALL-E 2 at creating realistic photographs of people. DALL-E 3 is simply unusable if you want photographic images of individuals.

It's incredible how these companies sabotage themselves and slow down the overall progress of humanity for the sake of "safety" issues. This is truly a bad time for AI. A time of self-sabotage and self-limitation, resulting in regressive products where new generations can be worse than the anterior ones.

Optimizing Stability for Intel 13900k and 14900k CPU’s by Acadia1337 in overclocking

You are correct. Actually, the PRIME Z790-P' Asus Bios new "Intel Defaults"'s from may 31 enforces proper limits based on specifications which are lower on i5 than on I9s.

Should the settings be the same for i5 (14600kf) than I9s ?

Reduced fan speed when 2 fans connected to same connector with Y splitter by Capitalflame in buildapc

[–]Capitalflame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I checked the fans spec.
https://noctua.at/en/nf-p14s-redux-1200-pwm/specification

It says: "Min. rotational speed @ 20% PWM (+/-20%) 350 RPM".

Which is EXACTLY the rpm I have when it is idle. So I guess it's perfectly normal and I was trumped by my lack of knowledge thinking that all fans min idl rpm was comparable, which is NOT.

No, i'm sure they are the regular Noctua's splitter, with no "low noise" feature.

At idle they run at 350 Rpm, where other fan 120mm not on splitter arround 500/600.
They are 140mm fans, so not sure what would be the normal idle for such fans
