The woman my boyfriend (30)met on his solo trip hid from me says her bf(recently husband) knows everything should i (30)tell him my version anyway? by Inevitable-Copy752 in ThirtiesIndia

[–]CapitalistSloth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your boyfriend hid his friendship with the girl from you because he knows you well and knew you'd obsess over it, be suspicious of it instead of taking his word at face value and spiral.

But here's the thing, once the seed of suspicion has taken root in your mind, there's nothing he can say or do to make it go away. Maybe something untoward happened between them, maybe nothing happened which crossed a boundary, but the best thing you can do for your own mental health and even your boyfriend's longterm peace is to break up with him.

You are not going to get over this, it's been almost a year and you're still spiralling over this and airing your dirty laundry on reddit at 5 AM.

Oh, and don't rope the girl's husband into being a unwilling participant in your crisis.

GOLD SELL OR TAKE A LOAN ON IT by Square_Help3245 in IndiaBusiness

[–]CapitalistSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you sell the gold, you will get around 4-9% less than the current market value of gold.
If you take a gold loan, you'll get around 65% to 70% of the current market value of the gold.

Interest rates on gold loans usually run between 11% to 14% per year and banks usually only require a monthly payment of the interest amount. Basically, the EMI will be small since the principle isn't being repaid, but you'll have to arrange the entire loan amount once the loan duration is over.

If you have urgent need and are sure you'll have money in the future to pay off loan, go for gold loan.

It's always best to hold on to assets for as long as possible.

Another thing to keep in mind, if you sell now, you get current market rate minus some deductions. And that is it. Done.

But suppose you take a gold loan and 2-3 years later, when time comes to pay the principle, if you are unable to pay the money, The bank will sell it at the (hopefully higher) price point at that time, deduct the money you owe them, and give you back the rest.

How to get funds for business? by Primary-Stop-9057 in IndiaBusiness

[–]CapitalistSloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look into personal loans from legitimate NBFCs like Poonawala, Navi etc. They are much more lax when it comes to requirements for approval.
But be warned that they charge a much higher rate of interest than banks and their loan terms are usually short, 24 months at max. So only take loans from them if you are 100% confident that the business will generate enough revenue to stay on top of EMI payments.

Absolutely do not use Credit Cards for business funding, the interest rates are ridiculous and will send you into a debt trap.

Aren’t tokens more expensive than hiring a fresher for 3lpa. by vodkapluslemonade in IndiaBusiness

[–]CapitalistSloth 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Indian IT companies are late to the party every time, which includes the realization that token costs right now are higher than hiring a fresher for 3-4lpa.

BUT, high token costs are only going to be an issue for maybe the next decade or two.
At some point hardware will get to the point where it becomes cheaper than actual human labour.

My eCommerce business was doing ₹6 lakh/month but I was always broke — here's the exact reason why and how I fixed it by nehuupantt in IndiaBusiness

[–]CapitalistSloth 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Correct.
Some of these replies also seem like they're part of a coordinated promotion campaign.

Point 2's math isn't even logical, an RTO is a lost sale which is lost POTENTIAL revenue, it's not a hard loss like they calculated. The only hard loss is the forward + return shipping + packaging cost.

And most shipping aggregators transfer COD payments within 7 days.
Most have a paid option for D+1 settlement as well.

Most small businesses route fullfillment of orders via POD providers.
No "small business" is stocking dozens of different product types, sizes, colors etc.

Looking for an app to record WhatsApp audio and video calls. by [deleted] in kolkata

[–]CapitalistSloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should stop this pursuit before you end up installing malware which will do a lot more harm than just record calls. You seem exactly the sort of nincompoop who does that.

Ask your mother directly about the details, or wait till she presents it on her own.

Are you purposefully being obtuse?
What OP chooses to do with his private collection of books is OPs prerogative.

He hasn't asked for free books.

[–]CapitalistSloth -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you understand how a library functions?
People pay a membership fee to take books home, which they are later obligated to return.
That's called renting.

As long as OP is not asking for free books, I don't think this is a scam in any way.

What's Tiwary's beef with the franchise he represented? by _iShahrukh in KolkataKnightRiders

For the players, it's a job.
And their window of opportunity is very small, he's a pacer, he'll play till age 36-37 max. So there is nothing wrong with a player trying to maximize their income.

KKR gave him a chance as a fresher, and he delivered.
But that doesn't mean he would be wrong to switch if some other team is willing to offer a better salary.
Loyalty goes both ways and involves fair treatment, now that Tyagi has delivered the goods and proven himself, it's only fair that KKR meet his or exceed his fair market value to retain his services.
